Let's see... The books, going from LOTR, The Hobbit over The Silmarillion to the Book of Lost Tales... even before the movies were made... The movies in the cinema... the movies on video tape... the extended Edition DVDs gift packs that are available...
BTW, the Return of the King extended edition Gift set has a miniature of Minas Tirith, 50 minutes of extra footage and music and, of course, we get to see what happens to Saruman! (but we have to wait a little longer than usual: December 10 to be precise...)

Next to 'all of the above', I visited the movie sets with a local organisation in New-Zealand. With the extended dvd's I got the best movie of my vacation that I can imagine

Read the books (both English and Dutch), went to the movies (part one about 7 times), bought the 2-disc DVD's, bought the Extended Edition boxes, and I'm collecting the Sideshow WETA statues (total worth a few 1000 EUR), so I think you can say I'm a pretty big fan.

Not everyone's able to spend a 100€ on a statue you know ;-) and even then, all the really cool ones end up on ebay before you get the chance to buy them .. I only have 1 weaponset, gandalf the grey bust & the items from the collectors editiondvd's

I do agree with that. The statues are not cheap. They start at about 150 EUR, and go up to 2500 EUR (Balrog Statue). But the bustes are from 50 EUR to 100 EUR (I have some in stock). All the really cool ones ARE available, but just don't wait to long...

I agree that some people try to buy a whole lot of a certain figure, but since the numbers been raised, that doesn't happen anymore.

Frobidden Planet in London is having a LOTR sale. They also do mail orders. Only a few items left, but there's a Gandalf The White on horseback at a serious discount. www.forbiddenplanet.com

I do remember that when LOTR Return of the King came out, it was exactly at the same time with the MATRIX REVOLUTIONS. First i believed thah the MATRIX was going to do better than the LOTR but that rapidly changed, be seeing the end. Please don't kill me all you matrix fans!!

I bought the normal and extended DVDs, even though I hate the lotr movies. I just can't watch them without being completely annoyed by all the changes and additions. I also have Bakshi's lotr on DVD and the animated Hobbit and Return of the King on videotape. Love the books though I have lotr (3x), the hobbit, the silmarillion, unfinished tales, history of middle-earth and letters, although I've only read about 6 of the history of middle-earth books so far.

Saw all three. Saw the first one on tape, second as well before buying the dvd of both 1st and 2nd. Then my brother got hooked with it and bought the second movie extended edition. We went to see the third one in the theater and then bought the extended edition when it came out.
