Linsner.com official message Hello, Linsnerland;
Ms. Eva here, to bring y'all a sad update.
If you have visited our site in the past week you already know this, but: on Monday, October 5th, 2009, we lost a fourth of our four-person team when the much-loved Mr. Zeke Feldhaus lost his battle with lung cancer:
Needless to say, Zeke's family, wife Helen & son Jake; JML & me & Greg (Team Linsner); satellite Team Linsner members Keith & Rob - hell, everybody who ever met or interacted with Zeke - we're all devastated. We expected that at only 60, Mr. Z would be around for years to come, sharing his stories, shipping those bombproof packages with TLC - packed with pride by Zeke - telling us about his weekend adventures w/ Helen & Jake, & lighting us up with that big honest smile of his.
If you loved Zeke too, as so many people that he reached out to via his work did, & you want to do something for Helen & Jake, his wife & son, please click here to read about the Zeke Feldhaus Memorial Fund. Helping out his family is way better than sending flowers or a charity donation. Eventually there will be a memorial print in Zeke's honor, also to benefit his family. There is both a snailmail & PayPal option.
Of course, this impacts the business end of Linsner.com. Zeke was very on the ball, it would appear that he shipped all the Linsner.com store orders placed prior to October. It also looks like there have only been 6 orders placed in October*: those likely did NOT ship, nor would they be able to ship for awhile. (More about that below.) I am going to refund those 6 orders, BUT, since we've de-activated the store because of all this, it might take time - more than a month. I'm so sorry for the wait. In the "great timing" department, Joe & I are leaving for those two European cons & a store signing this Thursday. (Don't worry European fans, still very excited to meet you.)
Our whole shipping department was where Zeke was in NJ; Joe & I are states away. In early November Team Linsner will be assembling to sort & move our inventory from NJ down to GA, where JML lives, & where our new shipping manager will be moving.
Yes, we have a new shipping person joining us soon, for which we are grateful. Mr. Keith Benshoof has been a longtime Linsner.com convention ally & good friend. He shares many fine qualities with the late Mr. Feldhaus; like you all, he is a true fan of Linsner art; he is anal-retentive & organized. Nobody thinks it's possible to fill Zeke's trademark red Converse hi-tops, but if I had to pick somebody new, I'd pick Keith. Which we have. I have faith that Keith's packages will be just as indestructible as Zeke's were. Keith knows the joy of receiving comics, prints & lovely works of art safely.
We're not 100% sure when the Linsner.com store will be reactivated; I'm hopeful for before the end of the year. I'd like to promise you all that there will be some kinda holiday sale. But we'll have to see how long it takes to get our inventory, & the man who'll be moving it, down to Georgia.
Please bear with us while we try to recover from this loss of our co-worker & dear friend. Just like every fan was a friend to Zeke, every eyeball reading this is important to us, & we don't want to leave anyone hanging. But obviously something like this is going to take time to sort out.
I'll be sending out another mail today with some great eBay Linsner OA auctions going on. But right now it just makes me picture the look of childlike wonder on Zeke's face when he saw a new work by Joe that he loved.
Sleep well, Zekey Zeke. Thank you everyone for the kind words & friendships - both in person, on the phone & online - that you shared with Zeke over the years. That was one man who really loved his work & all of you that he met through it.
Thanks for reading, & for your support of Linsner.com throughout the years -
- Eva (& Joe, Greg & Keith.)
