i can't believe it, i am gutted that marc singer has cancelled his appearance 2 years in a row!  i was so looking forward to this, can someone tell me how by coincidence artists seem to withdraw thier scheduled appearance at the last moment? i mean had f a c t s been last week, marc singer would have been there, how come something always crops when guests are due to appear at the convention?! i know the rules are if guests get work or are unwell they can cancel at any moment, thats fine and fair, but marc singer ( the great man that he is) has cancelled on us 2 years in a row! how unlucky are we marc singer fans, that's all i can say oh well 3rd time lucky next year!!!!!! |

Indeed, Marc Singer was forced to cancel his attendance at FACTS as he found out late Friday night that he landed a job on a new pilot called "The Republic.
We hoped that we could replace him immediately with someone else but we're still in the process to find someone suitable to replace him.

Another cancellation....  Pity he had to cancel.... twice. Well, work is work, we better think positive. Hope there will be a (good) replacement.... keep my fingers crossed (as the convention is really coming closer.... I do hope there is still time). |

thats ok, finding a replacement for marc, but that is no use to a marc singer fan!, he was the only reason i was coming to facts! and as for saying be positive work is work, that is ok if you see the end result, how many times do you see a PILOT episode of anything come to fruation!! sometimes i think maybe organisers of these conventions tell some white lies regarding star guests, just to attract the audience, i'll say no more on the subject.....  |

Maybe you SHOULD visit the F.A.C.T.S. and talk to the people organising it.
They are everywhere (well, at least they TRY to be there) at once, are friendly and accessible and to them F.A.C.T.S. is their "baby" and a labour of ove.
Once you meet them you'll stop thinking like you obviously do.
They are an honest bunch of geeks like you and me. They suffer as much as we do when a guest cancels his appearance. Probably even more because it's their work that's going down the drain and maybe even threatens the success of the event.
Lots of good clues as to their honesty and the kind of work they're doing can be found all over the forum.
Ok, you're angry, you feel frustrated and maybe even cheated out of a great experience (no irony here, meeting an idol IS a great experience).
This is totally understandable. But I don't think the F.A.C.T.S. team deserves an impolite statement like that.

yes you are 100%, i think my frustration got the better of me, if anyone at f a c t s feels offended i sincerely apologise, no offense meant! it's just that you think at least 1 or 2 days of the year an actor or artist can keep a date in thier diary thats all, i mean whats the point in advertising marc singer, lou ferrigno etc, for them to pull out.............. you guys now what i mean, we could be here all night but hey! i have just wasted another few hundred ££££££££  |

I agree with boloyeung iven if I understand organisers are not responsible to guest activity...
Guest Must understand fans who have sometimes a unique to meet them! I'm a store manager in Puy de Dome (Auvergne - France, +700 km from Gand), I've choosen my unique 2 holidays weeks to come in Gand for the first time as soon as Marc Singer was announced!
It was the reason of my coming... I was excited when I heard about Lou Ferrigno coming... bad luck, he's not coming...
And now, Marc has cancelled....
I fell frutated and angry not with Facts organisers but with Actors who neglect fans.
I'm a big fan of "V" and especially Marc Singer as Donovan...
It's the second time he cancels!!! he had to find a way to come at least saturday or sunday...(kevin Sorbo will come saturday for exemple)
i think I will not come In Gand this year unless another "V" actor or "Star wars" actor will come...
I hope facts 2009 will be a success!

That's a pity, and as many "V" fans I am really sad and I know that FACTS organisers does the best they can for fans. I am really sorry for FACTS organisers too.
