Simon Bisley (born 4 March 1962) is a British comic book artist best known for his 1990s work on ABC Warriors, Lobo and Sláine. His style, reliant on paints and airbrushing as well as inks, was strongly influenced by Frank Frazetta and Bill Sienkiewicz[citation needed], and took inspiration from rock album covers and graffiti as well as traditional comics art. While still a student, Bisley did a painting of a robot holding a baby that he sent to the offices of 2000 AD. The image was seen by Pat Mills and inspired him to relaunch the ABC Warriors strip, with Bisley as artist, in 1987. Following this, Bisley took over drawing of Slaine, Bisley also painted the intercompany crossover Judge Dredd and Batman, Judgement on Gotham. As of 2007, Bisley is an occasional contributor to the comics magazine Heavy Metal and has most recently done a cover for a new comic book company based in Hong Kong called Fluid Friction. www.facts.be/guestshtml/fa_simon_bisley.html

Ok, here's what happened ten years ago:
Simon Bisley was booked along with several other greats from Great Britain like Pat Mills and Carlos Ezquerra for a convention.
1) He showed up (several hours) late each day
2) When he showed up he either suffered a hangover from the night before or was "alcoholized"
3) He was very rude and impolite to his fans
4) He deliberately destroyed pages in some people's sketchbooks
5) He also wrote rude messages into people's sketchbooks
So IF he didn't got better over the past ten years, see to it that he doesn't get any alcolohilc beverages during your get-togethers.
Hopefully these are things of the past. This happened at a time when perhaps too many people had told him how really, really good he was. And maybe he started to believe them and so became (what some people called him) a conceited bastich.

the BIZ !! Very, very, cool guest! Yep the man can defenitely drink, but as far as I know him he is a very cool (and relaxed) guy and he makes great (and quite fast) sketches. ..the same goes for Glenn Fabry and Andy Brown, great guys and great drinkers |
