Romano Molenaar is a Dutch freelance artist who got his first assignment via LiarComics. After working on the mini series "More than Mortal" and "Witchfinder" he got in contact with Brian Pulido from the now defunct Chaos!comics, where he worked on "Purgatori" and "Lady Death". Meeting Tony Daniel at a comicon in the Netherlands landed his new gig, drawing monsters and gorgeous girls with "The Tenth". Then Topcow started to show interest and a dream came true when they gave him a 'Witchblade" (#61) book! He then got asked to work on an X-men issue ("X-men unlimited" #44), followed by a mini called "Cursed" (Egyptian mythologie and zombies) for Topcow and "The Darkness" Vol 2 #8. His latest comic assignment was "Bloodrayne" and he currently is the cover artist for all the "Grimm Fairy Tales" TPB's for Zenescope Entertainment. He is also the penciller for the European strip "STORM", via the Don Lawrence Collection. More on Romano: www.romanomolenaar.com

and in addition to those labor-intensive painted commissions
check romanoADDbartDOTnl for more information:
- headsketch at the convention: 15 Euro - A3 commission one character inked: 200 E - A3 commission one character painted: 350 E
There might also be a possibility in doing a tagteam commission with pencils by Ro and colors by Jorg de Vos, but that is still being discussed.

- headsketch at the convention: 15 Euro can't we just buy a album of Storm and get a sketch inside the album? (that mostly the way with European artists)

I know, I have met him twice now and we e-mail every now and then. But I am shy, very shy, so shy they invented the word specifically for me. Tháts how shy I am. (yes, you can use the word low self-asteem, it applys ) Once I am in my comfort zone there is no more shy me to see, but that first step..... or in my case this year: that first rolled meter in my wheelchair. And he díd bite once, luckily it was in a piece of apple pie.

On Sunday I actually took some time to watch him "at work"... it's amazing: the talent that man has! I can't draw at all so it's nice to see someone who just takes the correct pencil, put it in the right place to do whatever he wants to do and it really looks astonishing - just fantastic: everything is correct (shadow, harder lines, colours....) all without any hesitations. Wonderful it is.
