Born in White Rock, British Columbia, Jewel Staite knew she was destined for the screen at the tender age of six. She appeared in numerous television series such as Space Cases, Flash Forward, Higher Ground and had recurring roles in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids! and Da Vinci’s Inquest. She also gave a very strong performance as Amy Jacobs in the The X-Files episode Oubliette. To her fans, her most memorable role so far has been “Kaylee”, the beloved mechanic on Fox’s “Firefly”, which later became the major motion picture “Serenity”, in which Jewel reprised her role. Since then, she has signed on as the head of medicine on “Stargate: Atlantis” and the Stargate Atlantis: Extinction movie.   |

You guys are f**king amazing. I'm still jumping around from joy, when I visited the site and saw her face. There can't be a better moment to announce her. I was talking about it yesterday with Helliwood. I've just have rewatched Firefly and Serenity. And now I have begun with the last season of Stargate Atlantis. (Since I still had to watch it) Looks like the perfect choice since Robert Picardo is in it and taught it would be fun to see Jewel Staite first as Kaylee in Firefly and then seeing her playing Dr. Keller in SGA. And she puts both characters so lovely on screen. She was on the top of my list of actresses. Is it bad to say I'm happy Kristanna Loken cancelled and Jewel takes her place? I'm so excited!!!!!!!! Are you still looking for someone to sit next to her at her table at FACTS? Because I will volunteer for it. |

Not a big fan of Keller (actually not a fan at all) but I absolutely adore her as Kaylee in Firefly/Serenity! YAY!

I actually adore both of her characters. She puts a kind of cuteness and a happy, lovely feeling on the screen. Just the way she act makes her one of the better actresses there are.

:)I have to say I'm much more exited to meet Jewel than i was to meet Kristinna!!!Not such a fan of Painkiller , but the replacement with Jewel is more than an upgrade!!So this year there will be TWO doctors in the house , wonder I've thy will have to show who's the best in reanimation??!!... ;D ;D |

I've been waiting for the chance to meet her at a convention in Europe, but missed out on all of the opportunities so far. Great to see she's on a holiday, er... convention tour, again.
Jewel's an absolute blast and hilarious both on and off stage. Can't wait to have a chat with her!

Did a search for Firefly, but could only find on Blue Ray... and no BR player. But still a few places I can check out but there are no Dutch subtitles. English for the hearing impaired only. I don't think there's a version available for Belgium. |
