In partnership with Zeno PicturesRob Van Eyck Rob Van Eyck (Zichem, 1939) is a Belgian indie director whose biggest successes came with the "Afterman"-trilogy, about a man that survives an apocalypse and ends up all alone on the planet. The original "Afterman" movie was sold in 37 countries and became an underground hit. Van Eyck's work is often seen as experimental and rather surreal, which gave him a devoted cult following while he stayed virtually unknown with the wide public. Another important work in Van Eyck's career is the low-budget crime thriller "Blue Belgium", which was loosely based on the Marc Dutroux case. Jaak VerbistJacque Verbist (Hoegaarden, 1949) is known for playing in movies directed by Rob Van Eyck such as The Afterman 1 &2, De aardwolf, Blue Belgium and Mirlton. Besides an actor he's also an artists.

Talk's about a disappointment. Ah well, there will be other people more than happy to see them. (And it is for the better for the wallet) 9 actors/actresses I want there autograph. And a lots of artists I want to meet. so many to do, so few time. Even with an Early Bird ticket. Still 1 more artist, actor or actrice to go.

Never heard of them, but the film actually sounds kinda interesting.
I'm hoping the last name is somewhat more known.

That's why it's a bummer for me. Never heard about both of them. The same goes for the movie. But ofcourse I know some people who (I think) will want to meet them.

Sorry to those 2 guests, they fit more @ Filmfestival, anywhere, but for FACTS, I have my doubts.... Thanks for being the judge for everyone. We're lucky then that The Afterman was made a year after Zware Jongens so that this movie is not a waste of time. Try to watch the Belgian Malpertuis (movie from 1971) with Orson Wells directed by Harry Kümel . A beautiful adaptation of Jean ray's fantasy novel. This movie and also The Afterman has it flaws but can you blame a director for not having a Hollywood budget?

It's not a disappointment for me. I see it as a sort of introduction of this moviemaker and actor.

hmmm ok, so those latest announcements were kind of pixiedust to the eyes, I wasn't hoping for huge names to be added, but at least some more actors from star wars for exemple. One more name to be revealed, but seeing this latest announcment I don't expect much, at least this year I'm interested in meeting 3 actors (Williams, Benedict and Schulz) better than last year where none of the artists were close to any kind of interest from my part.

I was not saying that it was everybody's opinion, just mine ! (I tought 'zware jongens' was the year after, not before, my mistake, sorry). I only hope that there was a lesson taken from last year que for signing. like one acter per line up instead of one line up for all actors.

What are you talking about. There was a huge line for Christopher Judge (they even place fences to keep it fair), but that was just for him, not for the others. Altough there were some people who think it was for all the actors, so I pointed it out and saved them a lot of time.

Not entirely correct, it started out that way with one line an actor, but they changed it after a while. They changed it into one line for all the actors, which was really annoying to me (I went for Cairns, Sorbo and Judge their autographs in the morning but had to go back for Jimmy Jean Louis' since he was late. I spend a lot of time in a line of people who were just there for Sorbo and Judge).

More place would make it a lot easier. So the lines don't blend in each other. So great to hear it.

The great thing is that you don't have to waste too much time in line, since the lines for Sorbo and Judge were both really long. Well, it doesn't really matter since I'll be in line whatever you guys decide

Hi everybody, I'm Gino the owner of Zeno Pictures. I've been at Facts already 15 years now, with our special range of DVD-products. Because of the 20th edition of Facts this year, we wanted to do something special. Because we recently released the dvd of the belgian cultmovie The Afterman, I inivted the director and actor myself to participate at Facts. So these 2 guests are not really invited by Facts, but an extra I arranged. So don't be to negative about this, be glad that 2 extra people are coming. And maybe next year, if we're already a bit bigger, I can invite more glamorous peoples. All the best and i see u all soon. Gino Zeno Pictures www.zenopictures.be

My friend was checking out his booth and had a conversation with Rob Van Eyck for about an hour. He ended up buying the dvd. So yes, they were present. :-)

Yeah, I bought the dvd out of curiosity. They should keep the guests away from booze though, I'm surprised the actor could still sign something.
