Okay, here's the first real Horror thread : what did you think about '30 Days of Night'? I haven't seen it yet so I wonder if it's faithful to the comic book?

About the movie:It is faithfull to the comic. I have read the original trilogy of '30 days of nights' and the movie is superb to the first comic. I hope they will make the two sequels..? About the comic:It is a masterpiece of a story, but the artwork I do not like. See the movie!

(fanboy) I was mainly drawn to 30 Days Of Night because of Templesmith's artwork (I've been a long time fan of his stuff), although the overall concept of the 30DON franchise is superb of course. Although Niles' writing (and that of the guest writers) of the various chapters is good (and is only getting better Just look at the millions of comics Niles is writing these days!), I think 30DON works better if you see it as a "universe": the various comic series ( "Dark Days", "Return To Barrow", "Bloodsucker Tales", "Dead Space", "Red Snow", "Spreading The Disease", "Beyond Barrow"... phew, that's a lot of comics! ;D ), the novels ( "Rumours Of The Undead" and "Immortal Remains"), and the short movie "Dust To Dust" (released online in webisodes and as a special feature on the 30DON DVD) all weave a kind of tapestry, with characters and story threads intertwining and interacting with each other throughout the whole thing. So... to me, 30DON was an example of a perfect comic-to-movie translation. I thought it reflected the visual style of Templesmith's art perfectly... Conclusion: I thought it was awesome, but I can't really be objective about it: I've been a drooling fanboy from the beginning ;D ... It could be viewers who haven't read the original material find it a bit superficial or short or whatever, but it'll be even more awesome if it became the first part of a trilogy, bringing in aspects of "Dark Days" and the other series. (/fanboy)

i sitll need to see it but you've all made me verry curious, i'll promise i'll watch it before facts.
i always find it hard to find good horror movies, they either look flashy and good but then the storry is really boring. Covers always mislead me.
But i'd go anyday for things like, braindead or the evil dead, althou i do not consider these horror since they never gave me a scare i just laughed my tummy blue.
