Bleach

Yesterday tome 22 CONQUISTADORES was available in the store and as a additional bonus there was a dvd with the very first episode of Bleach on it with the manga.

With everybody talking like: I love Bleach, it made me curious, though I'm not an anime-lover. I watched episode 1 and 2 on Youtube... It looks interesting, but I do find it a bit childish sometimes. (Expressions and stuff) And I'm not sure what to think of the souls-part, since I'm a christian... But I might see more episodes later. You can't judge a book by it's cover, can you?

Childish? That's anime! Without the exaggerated facial expressions and stuff, it wouldn't be anime! Being so ridiculous is what makes it fun.

I don't think any anime fan or creator is very much concerned with the religious aspect or theological discussions. It's just cartoons. Furthermore, anime is Japanese, which is mainly Shintoistic and, to a lesser extend, Zen Buddhistic. In these religions, spirits and immortal souls are very common. Most children grow up with religious legends and myths about ghosts and spirits. So in that way, Shinigami are very Japanese.

Thanks for the explaination I do think I'll see all the episodes (as far as they're available) cause I'm getting used to the expressions and other earlier disturbances. I won't become a fan, but I do like it and will like to see some Bleach cosplay @ Facts ^^

Btw, that English dubbed voice of Ichigo sounds in some way familiar... Can it be that it is someone who did more voicework in other cartoons?

I dunno, I never watched the english dub... (always watches the japanese versions)

Yeh, of course, you have to watch the Japanese version with English subs! English dubbed anime is pure evil!! ;D

@saya: My pic is in the cosplay section. I will be updating the costume, but I can almost assure there will be no-one who looks like me ^^ It's quite an original costume, so

I love English language and it keeps me focused on what's happening. I only know one Japanese word ;D

I'm now at episode 55 or so, but I'm getting quite irritated about the number of main characters fighting. I just wanna see Ichigo battle the captain guy and see the story go on, but all I see are other characters. Pretty boring, if you ask me. I'll see if it improves...

May I note that it definetely reminds me of Dragonball Z for now?

Well, I think Bleach starts with a blast, but about episode 65... that's the point were it gets REALLY boooooring (aka filler episodes) Personally, I'd say you can skip 65 till 110... you'll miss a few interesting plot-twists, but it's boring as HELL... 110 is where the good stuff starts again x3

i followed bleach but generally skip the filler episodes cause they are boring and have nothing to do with the story.
while ago they started with the fillers again so i stopped watching again and asked my m8 to inform me when the story was back on track.the recent 2 episodes should be continuing the storyline again so i guess ill have to catch up with some episodes.
i really do have an unyielding hatred for fillers

I've seen everything from bleach till now (cuz a new episode airs every thursday) it's a very good anime, i'd recommend it to all of ya, and if u got to episode 106, u should watch the movie as well, it really rocks ;-)

you guys seriously don't know why fillers are made?!
seriously... come on...

(because the anime is catching up on the manga and to prevent that they make up fillers so the episode making doesn't stop...
i myself hate fillers... but i guess there is no way to stop it...)

Yeah fillers suck when they come in like 20 or more in a row :/ But the manga is getting terrible too lately,it's going so slow.
