we all know the popular series and films like spirited away but i noticed a lack on anime films. There are a whole pack of good films out there sometimes variating from the regular anime cartoon style ,but still sweet as cake to watch. Ill put down a few of my favorites in here. Tokyo godfathers.
i found that one verry hilarious and hearttaking ,i sometimes laughed my but off. But it's also one of those movies that either makes you try to think of things in a diferent way. dead leavesA verry short film made by the people who did flcl and toppen tenga gurren lagann( it has a drill to !). Only one word discribes it, totally Insane ( wait that is 2 words ) A must see for people who like strange stuff. nausica valley of the windOne of gibli's older films ,but stil as wonderfull.

Spirited AwayThis one even won the Academy Award for best animated feature of that year... That made it the second animated movie EVER to win that particular award, cause they only started giving that award the year before (with Shrek being the winner then). Spirited Away is not that old yet, still from this century, you know... But already I consider it a classic. I looove the story and the animation. I would try and explain it to you... But it is a complicated story... It starts with Chihiro traveling with her parents to their new house. On the way to their house, they get lost in a forest and Yu Baaba, an evil witch, transforms Chihiro's parents into pigs... From there on, it's a crazy ride for Chihiro.

Castle Of Cagliostro
Ok, it's another Ghibli, I know - but they happen to feature such characterizations and witty as well as nonsensical humor (ok, Nausicaa may be an exception here). And "Castle" does also have a somewhat lyrical touch to it.

Akira Le Royaume des Chats (The Cat Returns) Le tombeau des Lucioles La traversée du temps (The girl who leapt time) (watched in on the big screen in june in Brussels, and I had the whole cinemaroom for myself ), very funny & tender towards the end Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (Le voyage de Chiriho) (french title sounds a lot better than english one IMO) Paprika, was nice with the dream sequences, but a lot from Paranoia Agent seemed to be borrowed (also Satoshi Kon)

only the last one, i saw the old one at a friends place.
i prefer the new one thou not only because it is more smooth and stylish, i also think the way the story revolves is better.

movies or series Hades? in movies I would advise you to start with Brave Story, Cowboy Bebop Knocking on Heaven's door (but first watch the series), Full Metal Alchemest: Conquest of Shamballa (also watch the series first), those are the first coming to my mind as a series: COWBOY BEBOP (a classic to watch), Full Metal Alchemist (classic too), One Piece (classic too), Histories Strongest Disciple Kenichi (amazing manga, and anime is hilarious too, a must see!). Start with Full Metal, Kenichi and Bebop. I can give you thousands of more series afterwards. Useless to drop a huge list in one shot
