So, are there still comics fans out there ?
I remember that comics were quite important during the first FACTS editions, yet their importance has diminished over the years, both on the dealers' side and (imho at least) on the visitors' side as well.
So, if there are any comics fans, speak out !

So when no Space and Comics fans are out there (on the forum), we'll end up with a FAT convention :-) Looks then we're running out of a job.

Well, all we need to do now is to drop the Fantasy fans and double the anime and toys fans and we'll end up with the one and only ... AT AT convention ... (very bad word pun, I know I know )

Don't worry Draco, we're only kidding. I'm pretty sure that, from September on, comics and fantasy fans will invade this forum in growing numbers ! At least, that's what he hope ...

e-Mino, Finally, it took me a while, but I finally managed to get on this forum... If it somehow reassures you, I'll be there. This will be the...what...14th time... that I'll attend F.A.C.T.S. So, counting you and me, there will be at least 2 comic fans. But I've to admit that F.A.C.T.S. isn't what it used to be. It gets bigger every year, but the comic % seems to decline year by year. The only thing I see more of every year is manga, anime and more of that stuff. And sorry guys, I like you anime fans, but that's just the way it is. I would almost like to split this convention into 2 parts, a room for all the Japanese stuff and a room for the rest. But of course, I don't have much to say in that matter. Nonetheless, I still believe the people behind F.A.C.T.S. are doing a great job. But as we already discussed last year, I wish they would put the comic medium into a bigger spotlight. It seems they favour one medium over another. Of course, this might be my P.O.V. as a comic fan and as result not very objective. But when was the last time we got a comic creator? Looooooooong ago. To be honest, the guests from the last couple of years left me rather cold. Sure, my wife had a good time with that guy from Farscape last year, but I would rather see some great artists or writers like in the early days. But enough with the negative stuff. F.A.C.T.S. is still a cool convention where you can find a lot of cool stuff. And if you look well enough (and have a certain knowledge of what you're looking for), you can still make great deals. To my regret, F.A.C.T.S. is not the kind of convention where you'll finally find that copy of Uncanny X-Men # 94 you were looking for. In order to achieve that level of convention, we should get some of the bigger European (UK, Germany) comic stores over here... or maybe even better, some Americans. But I'm afraid there's little chance the last will happen anytime soon, as I don't see how it could be affordable to them. Another thing I'm hoping for, is to see some more G.I. Joe toys (at affordable prices). (People out there who still have some stuff left from their childhood and would like to get rid of it, are free to get in touch with me) Anyway, I'll be there... if all goes well. Less than 3 months to go.

It must be the 4th year that i'm attending facts and it will probably be the 4th year that you'll find me with my nose stuck between the comics . I did notice that each and every year more and more people offer comics! which is a very good thing off course, more chance of finding just that one comic i'm looking for. Last year I found a very good copy of ultimate spiderman #1 for my brother.

I've recently become aware of this convention and I'm going to this strictly for the comics.
If I'm seein' stars at this convention fine, but my main reason to go is comics.

Star Wars to symbolize the comics department? Naaah. Even though I'm a diehard SW fan, not everything revolves around it. To be honest, the only good SW is in the movies, as far as I'm concerned. So to symbolize "comics", I would have prefered Spidey, or Batman, or Hellboy. Plenty of choice. Hey, maybe it's Antman on the poster, and we just can't see him. Where's my magnifying glass....

Romano was at FACTS IV? Not to my recollection. FACTS IV was still in Centrum Ten Berg, and Romano was at the ICC, so I'd guess he attended FACTS VII or VIII, when the convention had moved. Who can remember this far back? Any comic book veterans out there? And yes, this part of the forum is pretty drab. Hey, guys, wake up. If this keeps up, the comic scene at the convention will really be considered dead.

Helloooooooooooo Toyzilla, I found out this morning that Romano was actually at FACTS in 2000 and I'll correct it tonight. Since his coming the Romano page always got the error FACTS IV in 1996 which means my FACTS-bosses or (ex-boss all this time didn't see this mistype. Cheers Mr. FACTS

I got way too much comics in my shelf, it's nearly crumbling down ... mostly drawn by Humberto Ramos (Crimson and Out There are so cool!), Skottie Young (that guy did a great work on Human Torch and Spider Clan) and Dreamwave studios, as well as SW comics (some are very nice, the best drawn is the "Jedi: Yoda" one, if you can get it, don't hesitate ) and TMNTs (yeah, I confess, I like those green guys a lot! ;D)
