hay i posted the tucci question some tiem ago and well broke the rules by writing in dutch...(sorry bout that)
but my question was... whom else is coming...
i read the forum a while back and it said there was a big supprise coming besides mr tucci.
to see 2 never published artist showing up on the bill was a very big disappointment..
But i didnt lose all hope..
u have pat mills..
he worked with the biggest names in england. he surely can find someone that is willing to tag along. (i mean he worked with people like simon bisley, john wagner and is married to a great book illustator angela kincaid.
so i kind ask u could u ask pat mills if he can find a published artist to tagalong?
and if thats not possible could u try to find someone that has published work in the nearby countrys.
travis charest lived in france for some time.. in italy u can find some big names aswell.. horley, rizzo, dell otto
even in germany there are some nice names.
i think if u would ask romano he might even be willing to come a second time.. which would be great promotion for his new upcoming storm book.
hopefully u'll be able to get some published names add to the bill..
cuase these 2 unpublished names arent interesting..(since they havent published a thing yet!)

Personally I think they did a great job!!!
TUCCI is a really cool artist, both friendly (and he loves Belgium!!) and highprofile
MILLS is a very topclassact in the UK scene
and well...
LEROUX has done numerous very cool French and also one US comic...
Notably is the artwork for the oneshot "Witchblade: Blood Oath" which has dreamingly gorgeous artwork so I am quite happy to see him coming over!!!

I absolutely do not want to sound rude ...but CRAP!!! ..is this really all you can get (for artists) this year?  ? ANOTHER no-name added to the list?! This is extremely dissppointing! Does facts even care about their comic fans?? ..you have a very good line up of movie actors ..and a extremely crappy list of comic artists. Why isn't it divided equally??? Tucci and Mills o.k, but the other 3 (why even add another one? ?) are simply wanna-be's! ..I have been published in Wizard magazine, Savage Dragon and Negative Burn ..that doesn't make me a comic artist ...just a very driven amateur. ..if you ask amateurs, at least ask some with quality. In my opinion (and I am defenitely not the only one) all 3 are crap (compared to a real artist/professional)! There are soooo many (big and small) artists in europe ..even good amateurs. I would rather see one decent (small name) artist than these three... I know this has been asked several times but are you getting any more ARTISTS? ..Like Moony asked: did you ask Pat Mills if he could bring somebody along with him?? You didn't ask Liam Sharp last year, I know quite a few MamTor people would have loved to come (very good artists like Lee Carter, Kevin Crossley, Dave Kendall) ..they/some would even have bought their own airplane ticket ..if they were just asked (luckely some are coming to Lille this year:) ..please don't tell me this is it......... ps. If the artists are reading this: it is absolutely nothing personal! I am just letting my big dissappointment, of Facts 2006, heard. I have been a Facts visitor for several years, and I think that Facts are letting the comic fans down. ..not something I expected after the last cople of years:( |

Kevin O'Neil would be cool! ..as would LOTS of others: Glenn Fabry, ,Jim Murray, Rafael Garres, Duke Mighten, Dermot Power, Siku (would all be extremely awesome!), Massimo Belardinelli, Mike McMahon, Greg Staples ..and (of course) the main man Simon Bisley ...all artists that worked with Pat Mills & which i would love to meet  EEEEEEEEEEEEE MMMMMMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIInnnnnnnnnnOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO??!!!!! ? |

We will see if Emino can still shake his tailfeather or maybe it will be fun to contact some of those people for the years to come.
Personally I contacted only those people I know, or those artist someone MPed me about and for whom I got permission to go after.
Speaking for 2007...just got an amazing A-list artist for that show...
But ofcourse you will have wait for NEXT year to find out who that person will be

Keu Cha ..great choice!!! ..makes me very happy thanks!!!!!! Yep... that makes two of us! :-) As far as I'm concerned, we cannot complain this year. I mean, we've got 5 artists, 2 of which I'm really interested in. This may sound weird, but that's enough as far as I'm concerned. We (me and my wife) only attend FACTS on Saturday. And 2 or 3 artists is kind'a the maximum if you still want to enjoy the con itself too. After all, you're usually not the only person who's waiting in line for a sketch or to have some comics signed. Actually, that's one request I would like to make. Why not extend the opening hours till 20:00 or something, as 17:00 is simply way too early as far as I'm concerned. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this year's edition ( as I am every year *LOL*). I just hope not too many artists will be cancelled at the last minute, as it wouldn't be the first time (even though I realize you guys don't have much say in that). |
