The New Star Con didn't get a proper foothold here, because they had no idea who to turn to for help (the organisers themselves are German, so they know little about shops and fan clubs in Belgium) so I also doubt we'll see them again. At the end of October, there was the first edition of Asianim, which was even worse. I do know that from April 5. to April 17., there's the 25. edition of the Brussels International Festival of Fantastic Film and with the help from my group, they plan to do something special for the 30. anniversary of Star Wars. Not just that, but on Easter Sunday and Monday, there will be a convention, like FACTS. I guess it'll also be smaller, since it's their first attempt at a convention, but it might be worth checking out. Normally, my group will be there with lots of our material, including the short fanfilm we helped make: "Reboot 57", and of which we had the jeep and sandbag-dug-out with the post-apocalyptic soldiers. The director of that short film is trying to get it ready by then. Personally, I'm also working to get more stuff finished by then, but I'm still doing negotiations so there's not much to tell for now. I can give you the link to the festival itself: www.bifff.org

Yes, that's exactly what I was saying. It's their new 2-day convention.

I think that's about all in Belgium :C
The best thing is to go to the Netherlands for conventions or France

I went to the New Star Con in 2006... I think... And it was in Rijswijk, in the Netherlands. The Merchandise was nice, but the entrance fee was too much (like twice the amount of FACTS). The stars WERE better though, in my opinion. (Harry Potter actors, yeay!) But there weren't as many dealers there. And the number of cosplayers? 10. Maybe. I saw a lovely Yuna there, but that was it, really. Can't even recall what was there... Ah yeah, a trekkie...
It was okay-ish. Maybe it has improved since then. Me and my friends had fun stalking the HP-actors, lol, but there wasn't that much to do besides that. Very small compared to Facts.
If you like Fantasy, the Elf Fantasy Fair is a lot of fun though. It's a Fantasy convention. No Star Wars or Star Trek, though people DID say there were Avatar cosplayers there last year. (A kid dressed as Aang, lol.) Also HP-cosplayers, LOTR-cosplayers are a common sight there. Probably WoW-cosplayers too and the likes.

No, ehm, Elf Fantasy Fair is really nice... The only thing I minded when I went was that it was COLD. It's in April and it's outside. The weather can be nice then, but when I went, it was very cold and there was a bit of a drizzle too. But the atmosphere is very nice there. A bit more medieval/fantasy-like, but really laid back. It's a great place to go. Really... Just go once. If only to please the misses! That way, atleast you know for sure you won't be missing out on anything when you decide not to go the year after. (Or maybe you'll like it so much you'll be hooked for life!)

Lol yeah. Suppose I better head to bed as well. XD Haha. Somehow I'm convinced that if I spend time on this forum, FACTS will arrive sooner or something. Maybe... It would even be tomorrow!!!
(Though that would be a disaster cause my costume's not ready yet! *does a Home Alone scream*)

Although it was nice to see Bud from Married with children, as the russian guy in Harry Potter. I've heard about some other cons, like animansion at Brussels and wasn't there a con in Liege by the end of the year

Hypercon got some problems indeed... but they will be back next year, don't worry (though they'll probably use an other name)
Other conventions: -Animagic in Bonn (Germany) --> This weekend! -Abunai! (September, Zwolle, NL) -Animecon (May, Almelo, NL) -London Expo (October & May) -Japan Expo (July, Paris, France) - lots and lots more, but I can't remember them atm xD
