No one is actually posting on our Space (Sci-Fi) section. Don't let us become a FACT-convention So, shoot your questions on the popular Sci-Fi series. ;D

Yeah .. Space jsut is so vast, and not only in space.. but also on the www .. you have like Scum, and Teekay-421, and GalacticHunter, and SW.com .. and that is like 0.001 % of them .. and I'm sure other sereis and films have their own fanbase with their own boards

Is Space near dead, wel i'm beginning to think that it is, if an event like thise one, only has eyes for Star Wars, then it is going to fade away eventualy...
Star Trek sounds here like it is taboo...
Personaly I know 2 who would love to show up at F.A.C.T.S. And they are nearby....

so long nothing to say here, I start feeling that space is really lost.... I really hope to see some TREK personalities on this years FACTS. It is almost a MUST to have them this year, being a year of celebration. Yes, it's about to hit the 40th year. So guys, get on it and get some actors, so we can make it the event of the century !!!!!!!!!!!
I know personaly 3 actors who really love to come to FACTS !!!

I think the main problem is that sites such as FACTS offer very little in the way of interaction, new topics, basically: a lack of life! A movie news section, new anime titles, discussions on movies, kit building, how to customize stuff, etc. It pains me to say ('cause the guys at FACTS are buddies), but the site is (don't shoot)...boring. Except for the forum, there's little to do, news updates are slow,... Now, I know why this is: FACTS is a (timeconsuming) hobby for the crew, and they have to work for a living, too. They just don't have the time. Maybe some hardworking fans can spend time on a genre news section, giving us something new to read each time we visit the site. 'Cause always seeing the same stuff for two months on end puts you off from visiting again. So how about some review sections on all sorts of topics? That way, a great section such as "space" with tons of fans, wouldn't die out.

welll...
the site of FACTS only needs updating a couple of times a year..
this section of the forum is only o reference to the guests and some highlightings of the FACTS to me...and thus not a real community.
I " do " comics so once in a while I post some newsbits in the comic-section but that does not mean that a forum is suddenly alive...
I love the way FACTS also provides for this forum, but having a community here is just a bit to early in the game I guess...

I do have the feeling that (as well as in the Netherlands) the market for SF conventions is shrinking somewhat. Comics and anime are pretty hot, fantasy had a big hype after LOTR and Harry Potter, but SF seems to have been forgotten, aside from some comic book movies that seem to keep hitting the box office. Movies like Serenity and Sunshine don't seem to cash enough anymore, and FACTS noticed it 2 years ago with the limited success of the Stargate guests. Nevertheless the fandom is still active, judging from the enormous amount of Star Trek and Star Wars fans still arriving at the cons. I will be attending FACTS for the first time this year, and I'll be bringing the SG-1 outfit.
