True, butt how will you get superman out of the milkyway? that's very simple hold kryptonite next to him, lock him up for some time WITH the kryptonite in a solid box and send the box out of our galaxy

(Just came across this topic and read it untill you guys started going off topic ^^ so i figured lets get this on topic again)
And i voted Star Trek. ^^
I'm not a major fan of sci-fi. But i did see most of the Stargate SG1 eps, most of the Star Trek eps and all Star Wars movies.
And SW ends on thrid place between those 3. For a neutral person (no hardcore fans like all the above) it's easier to pick series above movies. The storylines are more detailed and show more backgrounds of the characters.
Star Wars is a nice movie, but i thought it was a bit cliche on certain sides (not all). I saw the first 3 movies that came out, when i was still young and so it looked more cool, awesome and everything else a child thinks when seeing things like that on tv. Now, the i actually loved the eps 1 (when Anakin is young), but after that it's again rather cliche, wars, romance in between, a bit of insanity etc.
I haven't seen all Star Trek eps yet. But yes cptn Kirk was a bit too stereotype (that explains why i have seen almost none of the eps he plays in). He's too much of an hero. There has to be more to in. Deep story telling, some unexpected plots and other things make the next ST series better.
The problem is that judging these is rather hard. Since we have seen so much of these things already. And it's harder and harder to find something new, original and refreshing.

Toyzilla, think again, in space godzilla can't survive. Kirk & Picard at least have thier ships. Actually, Godzilla càn survive in space (he even walks on a moon with no atmosphere in Monster Zero), and underwater (where he sleeps). There's very little that can harm Big G, except an American remake.... ;D sssssst dont say that R word, dont give them idea's ;D ;D ;D

I can't choose!!!
... Yeah, I kind of like both. *sigh* As for movies, the Star Wars movies are loads better... But the series.... I like those better than the Trek movies...
Let's put it this way: yesterday I was in Media Markt, not that I had any money, and I was thinking of: "What should I buy?" And I was more tempted by DVD boxes of Deep Space Nine then I was buy the DVD boxes of the new Star Wars movies...
So I chose Trek, but I love both.

in some way its hard to compare. while starwars exists out of 6 movies, startrek consists of different series each having its own charm, the series have in their turn spawned several movies. both' wars and trek' also spawned books, comicbooks etc... but im not counting that stuff in. now you can start comparing the movies but i feel that wouldn't be fair to startrek since the movies are just a byproduct of the series.

I was thinking just now... Because I love both Trek and Wars a lot...
Suppose they would have to delete knowledge from your brain and you'd only have room for ONE Star Wars trilogy or ONE Star Trek series... Just one... Which one would you keep with you in your mind and which one would you have deleted?
A difficult decision and for me it would be a very close call between the old Star Wars trilogy and Deep Space Nine...
And I absolutely looove Deep Space Nine... But I could imagine life without it, you know?
So I would keep the memories of the old Star Wars trilogy. It's too epic to miss out on.

I love them both. But if one day I decide to watch all of Star Wars, the game is over after two days. When I decide to watch all of Star Trek, it will keep me busy for a couple of years.
But they both have their ups and downs. For Star Wars, episode I was (IMHO) a long and borrrrring movie. I liked all the other movies very much. For Star Trek, TNG was (IMHO) terrible and they ran out of ideas during VOY. TOS was the best, DS9 was great and ENT started well but went downhill in it's third season. As for the Star Trek movies, the first one was slow and borrrring, the second one got it right, the third one was very good, the 4th shouldn't be canon (but it was a great comedy, just like Galaxy Quest), number 5 is my favorite although it could have had better FX and a better director, number 6 got it right again and after that they went downhill again with the TNG cast. I am looking forward to the new movie since it will have the TOS characters (different actors don't bother me since I got used to it watching James Bond.)
So I voted for Star Trek.

Definitely Star Trek. I saw the TOS when I was little (a rerun that is). Got hooked to the Spock - Kirk - McCoy trio. Though I like Enterprise too.... earlier in space and who knows.... one day we will ;-) Still watching the Voyager series (not my favorite that is) and DS9 (good for what I've seen so far). I know I should mention TNG too.... and I do have them also on DVD, but can't watch them all at once.
I look forward to the new Star Trek movie. For years they said there won't be another one. When I first heard (read) the news I couldn't believe it. For what I read about it, it could make a great movie (didn't like TNG-ones that much).
Also look forward to see P. McGillion ;-)
I've seen the Star Wars movies too, and the first 3 were the best, though I really liked the first one too.... (yeah, Darth Maul ;-))

Trek now, since the series are pure randomness. Wars when I was younger, because I was one with the force back then XD Too much into vulcans right now.

Chosing Trek over Wars!
Star Trek is more philosophical than Star Wars. Star Trek is deeper than Star Wars. And I like iconic characters like Spock, Mc Coy, Kirk (I prefer Chris Pine to William Shatner), Picard, Worf, Data, Riker and Deanna Troi.
I am currently watching the season 2 of Star Trek Enterprise and I really like it. Scott Bakula is an incredible captain, I wish I would see him in Star Trek XII instead of William Shatner!
My favourite movies : First Contact and The Voyage Home. Favourite enemies : The Borg.
And I've seen the 3 first episodes of The Next Generation. Nice show.
