On a technical note: The link on the forum announcements to Alan Roscoe is a 404. Is his page present? EDIT: Adding to that, his correct name is ALAN RUSCOE (with a U). IMDB: www.imdb.com/name/nm0750603/The page on the main FACTS site seems to work though. I'm really delighted to see the first DW guests from the new series pop up in Europe.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! She cancelled! I want to meet her so much. I want her autograph, there is only 1 autograph I want more and that is from Natalie Portman (Padmé). It's cool that ALAN RUSCOE comes and that another SW-guest soon will be announced. Butt still I am very sad about it.

Hmm well I think the organization does its best to cover it up. Works for me, anyway ^^ I would have loved to see her too, but almost as much as other SW actors Too bad these guys are kinda covered in make-up in the movies, but well, it's SW

Do you guys have a hint for us who the next announced SW actor/actress will be?? ^^ Do you also have a hint on who the next NON-SW guest will be? (IOW: What does a SW guest offer more than another SF guest, besides your personal fandom? I don't really believe in "strength of the masses" here, meaning that SW guests will pop up earlier if a huge amount of SW fans show up, leaving the rest of the SF fans a bit in the dark.)

Thing is the presense of SW fans (and each year quite a lot as well) are always a given for FACTS with clubs like Teekay-421, Rebel Legion and BCD there. So it seems only logical to atleast invite 1 or 2 SW actors to please them and keep them coming.

BCD is not just all about Star Wars... I know. There biggest thing is Star Wars but not just that.
If FACTS inly caters to one sort of fan, they'll loose out on other people. I know they can't please everyone but sometimes you have to take a chance to win.

You're correct on this one. It's a big group of fans we cannot disappoint. But we try to find SW guest who also played in other SF series or movies to please the other fans. Alan Ruscoe can be seen in the new series of Dr. Who and the newly added Ralph Brown has quite a big role in Alien³ in which he plays Aaron, a security guard no one listens to in the prison where the Alien is loose. Hence his nickname '85' (his IQ).

Alan Ruscoe can be seen in the new series of Dr. Who ... Actually, you're wrong about that. You can't see him underneath all that alien make-up, mask, suit-thing.

Presence is not a problem. Overwhelming numbers are. Even at the first DSC, the cosplay was basically invaded by the German 501st Legion, about 30 people at once, and without hesitation, the jury declared them a winner because a SW actor was on the judge panel. I'm just afraid that us Trekkies, Stargate fans, Whovians and Galactica fans get pushed out of the way by the enormous numbers of Star Wars fans that seem to show up. Which demotivates the fans of other shows even more, and no guests of other shows will end up on FACTS anymore. Remember what happened with Corin Nemec and Don S. Davis? Both great actors and tremendous names on SG1, but the gathering was at most mediocre for them.

Remember what happened with Corin Nemec and Don S. Davis? Both great actors and tremendous names on SG1, but the gathering was at most mediocre for them. Interesting comment, but that's precisely the whole point. We had two great Stargate guests in 2005. I mean, Don S. Davis is in the top 5 of Stargate appearances !! And Corin Nemec has played both in Stargate & Parker Lewis (HUGELY popular in France). We posted the news on loads and loads of Stargate sites, etc. Yet they failed to attract big crowds, meaning the cost (flight, hotel, etc.) were less justified than for SW actors, who are more popular. And costs are something we need to take into account too (for organising FACTS is not a cheap thing). So, to a certain extent it's a catch 22 situation for us : if we only invite SW actors, the fans of other series complain, but when we do invite guests of other series, the turn-up is lower than hoped for, meaning we invested a lot of time, energy and money with a poor end result ... Hence why this year we've been trying to invite actors who played in different series to please as many people as possible. More are to be announced soon by the way !

the only guest im intrested is robert englund-so he better not cancel like last time lol Don't jinx it. And on the topic of Don and Corin. I didn't know about them coming to FACTS until I accidently saw something about it on TV. I didn't even know what FACTS was until I saw that commercial. And I spend a lot of time on a lot of Stargate boards in many different languages (Dutch, French, English).

I know ConFuse is doing its best and i applaud the hard work they are doing and like i always say they are WAY better organized than the London Film and Comic Con was this year! Still i have to agree with Nakeli. Why have a suggestions board if it seems like ConFuse is only catering to one group of fans? I know you can't please everyone and trust me i praise Confuse for their efforrts, but not just Star Wars fans come to FACTS. Though i understand why they get these guests i sure hope it doesn't backfire on them and lessen attendance due to lack of interest in the guests, because FACTS rocks!

And I dont want to be seen here as complaining idiot, I do applaude your efforts on trying to find a balance. Sometimes you win some, sometimes you loose some. And I am sure glad I dont need to do it . Edit: Invinting Corin Nemec and Don S Davis was a great move as well. Hope the next one is both from Stargate/Serenity and something else to attract a bigger crowd.

are u serious ? Amy Alllen better then Ralph Brown ? , c mon , she is not even a real actrice , just a girl in a suit who is on screen for 2 secs in the background ( some people would call this AN EXTRA) still , i understand why she is quite popular with boys who never seen a beautiful woman in real life , but to call her better then real actors like Brown or Englund is pushing it a bit. And i dont believe in the theory that a big star wars fanbase at facts = alot of star wars guests. Just look at last years edition , Henriksen en Ironside had alot of visitors. they where a key factor in what made last year such a succes. True , Daniels was popular , but i'm pretty sure Henriksen sold more autographs then him. Sagal , Englund and Brown will be the most popular this year . Why ? Couse people realize these are real actors . Not just some "guy in a suit extra". Im a huge star wars fan myself but u have to admit that almost 70% of those star wars guests stars u see appearing at all these conventions do not deserve to be there ( or do u really wanna pay 20 euro for the guy who was the second snowtrooper entering echo base in Empire ?) Credits go to the facts organisation that in the last couple of years we start to see more and more real guest stars instead of dudes in suits.

I agree with Kit. Besides I prefer Amy because she also works (-ed?) for ILM then for her small parts in the Prequels (she was also in TPM yes, as another Twi'lek, this time a Senator aide) and NOT Because I never seen a beautifull woman in my life before (believe me I am quite happy with my girl). Having said that Brown isnt much more then an extra in SW aswell, but I do recognise him as a better actor.

Allen's job at ILM : visual effects production assistant / production assistant : U have any idea what a production assistant is on a movie set ? trust me , i did that job : u make coffee and u do paperwork. Nothing more. she realy takes advantage of this btw , people think she is like Dennis Muren or something. i mean what's next : the toilet ladies at ILM signing atougraphs ? ( yes sir , i cleaned Mr Lucas toilet once , that ill be 15 euro's for my autograph ) btw , i dont have anything personal against miss Allen , like i told before 75% of the so called star wars guests at conventions should be ashamed of themselves. the same goes for "actors" from things like LOTR ( playing second orc from the left during the opening battle ) Ralph Brown does indeed have a major part in Alien 3 but its also a very tricky part to play and one of the best performances in that film. and his part in Wayne's World 2 is one of the funniest things in that film. its spot on .

Every actor has better opinies and some bad. Of course not every one can like the same actors. FACTS is trying the best they can do get various guest for every one and I think they do a great job at that. Still, very pity that she cancelled.
