FACTS 2008 will take place on October 11th and 12th 2008, conquering the ICC, Citadelpark, 9000 Gent, Belgium. We occupy both the ground and first floor, so be sure to take the stairs going up or you will miss a (big) part of the action.
Once again FACTS will be the place to be for all fans of science fiction, fantasy, anime, comics, merchandise, cult movies, horror and manga. You like it, FACTS provides it!
Indeed, we have broken our dealers' record with almost 900 meters of dealer tables filled with rare collectibles, toys, DVD's, CD's, books, posters, postcards, key chains, model kits, figurines, etc. From producer to the collector who sells part of his valuables: they all have a booth at FACTS. So don't miss this unique occasion to complete your collection.
But FACTS isn't just about merchandising, since we have also planned a zillion activities, from the likes of card game demonstrations and competitions, sword fight demonstrations, cos' play competitions (including a special Bleach cos' play competition), a DDR booth (ideal for an intensive work-out!), an entire fan village with a dozen or so fanclubs, an exclusive first look at a Belgian SF movie called "Reiki", and much much more.
FACTS will once again be a feast for your eyes. Besides a few hundred (!) cos' players walking around, you'll be able to admire a life size Death Star Throne, an (almost) life size Stargate, R2 D2's scrolling about, life size statues, a Star Wars lego booth and more.
And of course you'll be able to meet your favourite stars from the likes of Richard Hatch (Apollo from the original Battlestar Galactica, Tom Zarek in the new BSG series), Morena Baccarin (Firefly, Serenity, Stargate SG1), Cliff Simon (everyone's favourite villain from SG1, Ba'al), Silas Carson (Hidalgo, Star Wars, Dr. Who), Paul McGillion (Carson Beckett in Stargate Atlantis) and even two actors from the famous British cult series 'Allo 'Allo (Agent 'Good Meurning' Crabtree & Mimi) ! You'll be able to meet our guests, get your picture taken with them, purchase an autograph and attend their respective Q&A's.
Comics' fans will have quite a few people to pay a visit too as well, with internationally renowned comics artists from the likes of Michael Golden, Romano, Eric Basaldua, Terry Moore, Sarah Wilkinson and more paying us a visit. And we couldn't close off this list without mentioning Steve Niles (writer of the very hot series 30 days of night) and the best Belgian cartoonist around, Lectrr!
But wait, there's even more! How about some free goodies when you enter our premises; loads of prices to be won (a/o at the Ubisoft booth); our very own Cantina where you can relax and have a drink or a snack; our own shop where you can buy DVD's at reduced prices and autographed pictures from previous guests, the official FACTS t-shirt, exclusive limited prints by Romano and Basaldua; an incredible FACTS Party on Saturday evening; the John Williams concert on Sunday evening, etc.
