COSPLAY PARTY @ PaNique d'O!

Hi mates,

Me and a friend of mine had an idea.
We live in Mechelen, and we got our home-bar, called PaNique d'O.
We want to organise a Cosplay Party in there on a friday.
Almost whole the cafe reacted positivly and said that it's an awesome idea.!

Whats the awesome stuff?
- The bar is awesome, it's a place for everyone we've got an awesome basement for concerts, a chill-out lounge with couches AND A BIGASS SKATERAMP in the backyard!
- Drinking in PaNique is very cheap.
If we organise this on a friday, you'll be able to buy "Pintjes" for only 1 euro.
.. So.. How about that freaky cosplay party mates ?


I need your opinions..
If we get enough people, well organise it and spread some posters

Public transport, hotels? People wont be coming in cosplay and leaving before 12 o'clock I think.

How convenient is it to get there from other cities?

Is there a place nearby where people can spend the rest of the night or is it a day-party? @_@

Is it 'cosplayers-only' or 'regulars and some cosplayers'?

I'm sure there are so many more questions, but I can't think of them now

There is a "Novotel" 30 meters from the bar,
But that's not the most cheap xD..
Other hotels or hostels are little bit further,
But in main.. Malines is a very small town, you can cross it over in 30 minutes

We need to work out this idea, that's why I called your help people!
Also it will be a cosplay/regular visitors night, but everyone will be informed about it and we've made a poll in the bar and most of people think this idea is AMAZING and will be cosplaying as well, the others will party also, but not necessary cosplaying

Ohw yea and forgot to say.
This bar is awesome So it's open all night long, untill the last customer leaves..
So party will go on till morning!

Yes, but the party is to be organised AFTER facts.. a week or two or maybe even later..
This is just a forum full of cosplayers so..
Perhaps asking you guys would be best idea xD?

I believe that on the first november Chibi Japan Expo wil be held, so i don't think 2 week after FACTS wil be perfect

Sorry mates,
this party is already under development and I'll be spreading some flyers on FACTS about it!
The date will be decided this friday, and also the prices for 3 best cosplayers.
I'll let ya guys know.
If this party will be succesfull, well organise another one mid-2010..

Just saying, the week after FACTS is when at least two cons are held, London MCM Expo and Asianim, and the week after that is Chibi Japan Expo as was mentioned in here already. October is sort of the start of con season, so you'll have to plan wisely if you want to find a good date.

I already thought about this a few times: but wouldn't it be more funny if it'd be a christmas or new year cosplay party. ^^ (just tossing ideas)

I can understand you guys @ PANIQUE D'OR made preparations for this cosplay party, but wouldn't it be better if most of us (cosplayers that is ) would show up
A home bar where a cosplay party is being held BUT NO cosplayers attending it, would be strange.

Wouldn't it be better to reschedule it to a later date (when no cons are held ;D )

Well..
Guys I have these news.
We have a date and a line up.
The party will be held 20 november 2009.
- well have a Japanese Chill-out Lounge, where you can buy sushi and sake.
- Well have a projector looping some nice AMV's.
- Sexy comic/gaming etc decoration
- Awesome music.
- 3 best cosplayers will receive a price from our Bar-Owner.
- Pints for 1EURO all night long
- Jenever shots for 1 euro
- all long-drinks for 2.5EUR

Why would the other 4 letters (FCTS - Fantasy - Comics - Toys - Sci-Fi) be interested in Anime only?

I'm not sure but I think theres a typo on the flyer/poster of the cosplay night.
shouldn't price as in "3 best cosplayers win a special price" be prize?
other than that, looks awesome, sadly unable to come
