Kristof Spaey (°26/11/1982) was born and raised in Leuven, and studied Animation and Comics at the Saint-Luc in Brussels. He debuted in 2004 with “Hoop” (BeeDee), a worldless comic about an insecure striptease dancer and her unanswered love for a charming portrait artist, made in cooperation with the German scriptwriter David Safier. Spaey has done contributions to “BruXXXel Noord”, a comic album by the comics atelier of the St. Luc in Brussels, and to the online comic magazine “Pulp Deluxe.be”. His work also appeared in the print collection “Pulp Deluxe Offline”. In 2006, he published his second book, “Façade”, at the publishing house Oogachtend. He now introduces his third work “Misschien/Nooit” (Oogachtend). More info : www.facts.be/guestshtml/fa_kristof_spaey.html

Hello everyone, as stated above I will be attending this year's Facts convention to promote my new album MISSCHIEN/NOOIT, written by Marc Legendre (Biebel, Sam, Verder). Here's a preview page: Apart from that I'll also be bringing along small sketchbooks entitled 'Tekeningen Naar Model' or 'Life Drawings', filled with sketches like these: I will have copies on sale from issues 2 and 3 (#1 is sold out). Each book is 20 pages in color, and limited to 5O signed and numbered copies. They cost €7,50 each and include a free sketch on the back of the book. I will also bring along a folder with life drawings that are for sale. Prices vary depending on the piece, but cost on average around €60. Some go up to €100, but you already have a piece for €15 as well. I tried to price them so everyone could find something within their budget. This is the only type of original art I sell, apart from commissions. I do not sell any of my original art related to my comics work. This week I also made my official debut on the American comics market with this variant cover for The Unknown - The Devil Made Flesh: Written by Mark Waid Drawn by Minck Oosterveer Cover by Kristof Spaey If you're lucky and can find a copy (it's the retailers incentive cover, and as such pretty rare) do come by to get it signed! See you all there!
