The party was a bit lame to be honest. the music was boring, not really good dance music and music is so important at a party! And later during the night the music got better .....or we didn't care anymore because we had too much to drink  But I think I prefer to stay in the hotel bar next year with some friends. |

The party was great.
Cheap prices, lot's of folks, great ambiance, lot's of space and very cosy!
But, if I want to make a decent coverage next year of FACTS we really gotta watch out with partying..
We got at 6AM at our hotel, and at 10AM already FACTS O.o

I had to miss it. again. because. again. my feet were killing me. -__-
I could not walk by the end of saturday, even if I wanted to party. :-( I'm really sorry that I missed the party.
Another question/suggestion/idea.
I do not know why the party is always at Twieoo? Is it because the FACTS-crew knows the owners? I do not know... But I was thinking...
Why not have a party at the Holiday Inn right next to the EXPO? Or a meeting straight after FACTS? They have a bar. It would be cosy to chat up with people there on saturday evening as well.
Just an idea. I'm also curious to hear how Twieoo became the "fixed place" for all FACTS-parties.
(I also would not mind helping with photoshopping the FACTS Party poster next year.)

I must say I like the suggestion of this. The Inn has a smoking ban AFAIK, so people do not need to endure the smoke if they don't want to. Furthermore, a lot of people are already staying at the Inn, so there is no problem with going home afterwards, and spending the entire night up to 4AM chatting in the hotel lobby is also no problem. Getting the technical means to throw a party at the Holiday Inn is not a problem. EDIT: An additional suggestion here, would be to have a separate (smaller) event where fans can interact with the guest in a more intimate setting, for example on Friday night. I was a bit disappointed that the Kevin Sorbo event wasn't a success last year, but throwing a VIP party would be a great idea. Of course, such a party doesn't need to be free. (ROFL'd at the word censoring!) |

the party was nice and cosy. Butt there was a lack off good music and the DJ didn't listen to the people when they had a request. So next year maybe another DJ?

I tried my best, but I had to work with faulty equipment as my hard drive didn't work. So I had to fall back to my (more limited) CD collection and a laptop with a few hundred tracks on it. I'd be happy to hand over the job to someone else for next year though, since it is quite energy consuming and I have to be on the FACTS floor the following morning by 10AM. |

Moreover, the con closes at 18.00 hours, which entails that people have to go into the city anyways to find something to eat. They should then get back to FE to join the party. A bit complex, isn't it?
No solution is ideal.

They should then get back to FE to join the party. First off, I think getting on a car drunk because people have been partying is their responsibility, not one of the FACTS organisers. AFAIK there is a law that prevents the bar people from giving alcohol to visitors of who they know are driving home. Furthermore, I have the feeling quite a few people are already staying at the Holiday Inn, and it has its own restaurant (aside from the IKEA). So for anything, I have the feeling that doing the party closer to the FE will keep people together more, instead of having to fan out for dinner and get to the Twitch afterwards. Lastly, people still need to return to their hotels from the Twitch. I don't think the Twitch is a suitable location anymore, partly because of the heavy smoke (remember, there may be quite a few people at the FACTS with respiratory issues) and because it's too far away from the Expo and neighbouring hotels. Also, with regards to the music: There is no way I can ever think of every possible track in the book and play <insert very specific request here>. For as far as I've noticed from the booth, people were enjoying themselves throughout.  |

Plenty of people I saw on the piccies of the party were staying in the Holiday Inn though. ;-) Some die hard fans go there. (There were many people of the 501st and also Conan was there and so was I and practically everyone in the hotel went to FACTS.)
And as for dinner... Many people go to IKEA. It's open until 8.
Though when it was at ICC, I also went for dinner in the center of Ghent... I just think that this has changed for many regulars now that the location is different.

I have never visited the FACTS afterparty before. Just to have an idea, how many people are attending this party approximately ?
This year we stayed at a nice b&b, so we could have gone to the party that evening. But after dinner we were just too tired to search for Twieoo's and returned to the b&b again. :-)
