there has been talk of a new movie, but with the original movie-cast, and they talked about just "forgetting" everrything that happened in the series and starting this one off right after the end of the first movie. Now that would be just plain stupid.

Ah, but that's Dean Devlin and his buddy. They want to finnish the trilogy. They intended to make a trilogy, of which Stargate was the first installment. They are in no way associated with Stargate SG1, so they aren't obliged to take the series into account.

I know, but then you'd disappoint most of the SG-1 fans, who would be the obvious movie-goers.

When I saw it the first time I had already seen a couple of episodes of SG1, and I can't say I liked the movie then. It was only after I had seen it again (and again) that it started to enter my like-zone.

Will be released in 2008. And both are in the time-span between SG1 1020 - Unending and SGA 401 - Adrift.

Continuum doesn't really have a time span because it involves time travel *sigh* Okay... ROFL. AOT and Continnuum are scheduled for spring '08. Strangely enough, Damian (Kindler) and Joe (Mallozzi) are dreadfully silent about the new series, Stargate: Universes, coming out. Not even an approximate time frame yet.
