What's up with the "so few actors" list?

I can't help but notice the near empty top line of actors/actresses to the near full line of artists... and it makes me wonder...

Is FACTS spending all its guest money on artists this year? Why is the balance a little off this year.

I have noticed a steady growing of artists in the years I have been going to FACTS now, and I'm sure that many people are excited to see so many prominent artists featured.

But what happened to the balance?

It's just an observation.

Now, to be quite honest, my wallet will forever be grateful that less money will be spend on autographs and I have trained my restraint very good to not buy every bit of merchandise I like. SO, in the grand scheme of things the out-of-balance-thing is actually positive in my case.
But, it nevertheless feels a little disappointing on my part as well... no offence intended to those who cheer for so many artists - I'm sure there well worth it, your wallet will hate you forever more though.

It's only the last couple years we got so many actors. And I don't mind if there only be 4 or 5. We don't need each year over 10 actors. I prefer less actors but more known and famous.

I agree with Grim, though they should try to announce them a bit earlier next year. Even if it's just from a marketing perspective. The more in advance you announce them, the more people will hear about it and possibly come for a known actor. Couple of years ago I met a girl that came all the way from Italy for Kevin Sorbo, perfect example

We have been trying to get actors signed since December but we spend a lot of times behind the scenes trying to make it work!

And since FACTS only announces actors after written contracts have been exchanged....

The Artist Alley is a completely different approach and really cannot be compared at all. Sure these are also "guests" but less restricitions and more personal contacts instead of the contact with the Hollywood-stars.

Even if it's fun to see actor names way in advance, practically it makes more sense to wait until a month or two before the convention. Actors have ever changing schedules, and have to cancel often. Instead of announcing them months ago (and then possibly having to disappoint the fans when they cancel), it's better to wait until you're more sure of the actor actually being able to attend. Imagine announcing Patrick Stewart six months in advance....and then having him cancel just before the con. Fans would be gutted...and pretty angry....even though the FACTS Team cannot do anything about it.

But personally, I'd prefer a bit more emphasis on actors and a little less on artists. But that's just me...

The first cool names have been settled but we're just waiting for the contract to get signed which can take some time.

We still have five months to announce them.

2013 -- and again the line of artists grows longer and the top line is remarkably void of people ... There aren't 5 months left this time around. 2 in fact (more or less on the dot) ... So, what gives?

I might be wrong, but weren't Lauren Cohan, Charles Dance and Ian Whyte announced rather late (september probably)? I'm sure we'll get another guest soon, I'm very excited as well

I also think the list of artists are always longer than the one of actors. Perhaps even twice as long including local artists and such.

My guess is we'll at least get one Walking Dead actor and one Game of Thrones actor. They're pretty much the top shows at the moment and guests of those shows always attract a crowd.

Come on, have we ever failed you, guys. Don't loose faith in the FACTS-gods.
Actually, we're spending enormous lots of time in filling up the 5000m² we have extra this year.

Anyway, another guest has officially been confirmed (it's not even mentioned yet on FB :-p) and we hope to announce him/her very quickly (maybe even this week) and who knows, it's maybe your favorite actor/actress.
