Does anyone know the name of the tall black stand full of canvases featuring characters from american comics, manga, and a meagerly drawn Sonic the Hedgehog?
Several artists have recognised this stand as a known bootleg dealer. i.e: One that downloads fan-art images from artists on Deviantart, then sells those on canvases without their knowledge.
I would like to know their business name and/or website so I can alert other conventions to bar them from the dealer room, on the grounds of selling bootleg items.

That remark was made by a friend of mine last year when she also noticed the famous Deviantart drawing of the Disney Princesses Making Silly Faces.

Yes this is correct, I told all my friends not to buy from them because they steal other people's art without their permission, it costs them nothing to order wholesale canvasses and they make a lot of profit.
A lot of it was even content from Marvel, DC or other corporations (Like not fanart but official art) and they can get into a lawsuit if they get caught.
I didn't like seeing this at all.

I have indeed been told they were at FACTS last year as well. If the con organisation is reading this: Please double-check canvas dealers for bootleg items next year. They could just as well have been selling unauthorized copies of your guest artists' work. If you need proof, just ask your nearest artist to recognise the origins of the arts on display. They have also been reported in the UK before, where they apparently originate: ubermidget.tumblr.com/post/27920384131/warning-if-you-see-this-stall-at-a-convention-inUpdate: Apparently they currently operate under the name "Oracle Images". If anyone happens to have a picture of their stand with some of the arts visible, please share.

2 of these canvas dealers were present at facts this year. 1 small dealer who has been at facts for 2-3 years now who had his booth in the upper right corner of the hall. and then a bigger one who was on the left side of the hall somewhere towards the end.
the sad truth is that most people dont know or generally dont care because people think about their own wallet and buying official artwork would cost quite a bit while these canvasses are quite cheap.
also,a big company has a legal department and can easily start a lawsuit & win it. for people who create fanart on pages like deviant art its just to much of a hassle to start up a lawsuit.

I've made pictures of that exact guy, I recognized him from a blogpost I read very recently. If you need pics, I can supply!
Very good that people are alert to these things, it's blatant thievery that needs to stop.
