Michael Garrett Shanks was born in Vancouver on 15 December 1970. He grew up as a huge Star Wars and Star Trek fan. He began with small roles in TV shows such as Madison, The Commish and Highlander. In 1997, Michael auditioned for the role of Dr Daniel Jackson on Stargate SG-1, the TV spin-off of the original Stargate movie and got the role. After five seasons of "Stargate SG-1", Michael left the series but returned as a full-time member of the cast for season seven. He also voiced Thor, the Asgard leader and reprised his role as Dr. Daniel Jackson in several episodes of "Stargate: Atlantis" and "SGU Stargate Universe". He did a number of guest appearances on shows such as "Outer Limits", "24", "Elysium" and "Smallville". But it was on the show "Andromeda" where he met Lexa Doig whom he married in 2003. Currently, he stars as doctor Charlie Harris in "Saving Hope". His best friend is "Stargate SG-1" co-star Christopher Judge, who was a FACTS-guest in 2009.       |

Rekha Sharma would be a really great guest! I've read before that Matt Smith is too expensive (unless mr. Facts won the lottory), but perhaps a compagnion/love interest like Alex Kingston?  Hmmm, thinking what else nr. 11 could mean... Maybe an elf? Craig Parker does a lot of conventions. Evangeline Lilly is probably a bit expensive? Maybe it's just 11 as an age? Isn't Arya supposed to be 11 or something? |

*jaw drops open*  I literally started jumping around. OMG, this is so AWESOME!!!! My favorite character on the show and someone who I asked many times before. I had already lost faith thinking he was to expensive. Almost even went to England for a convention to meet him. You guys blow my mind. I say this probably every year, but this is the BEST FACTS EVER!!! Let's see if he can beat Jewel Staite and Leah Cairns as my favorite guests at FACTS. Time to start jumping again from joy |

WOW ;D FINALLY ;D  As I received the email that tickets are on sale I thought it time to check who's added in the past week! What a NICE surprise! Just made my day  (where did I put my Daniel Jackson T-shirt.... better start looking! It's already Sept. 1...   Anyone from Stargate is OK for me.... but Michael Shanks is just great! |

With Michael Shanks for our anniversary edition we have finally the most important guest from the SG-universe which a festival as FACTS can afford. Please be aware that he is the 11th SG actor to attend FACTS. There are not that many affordable SG actors from the main cast left to invite. |

I beg to differ, the show also had Ming-Na who's a good actress. But with being a main character in the S.H.I.E.L.D. show, I guess she'll be pretty hard as well. Still, I'd visit the table of one of those SGU actors |

Great man Thanks FACTS for getting us Dr. Daniel Jackson Really nice and friendly (and funny ) Definitely have to check out "Saving Hope" (where will I find the time....  ) Enjoyed the Q&A on Sunday.... but found it way to short |
