Hotel? Transportation? Food?

Hi everybody, I'm Anaclara and me and my husband will be attending facts for the first time, we know we have to prepare a lot so we won't have problems but we're not from belgium. I found weird that I still haven't seen any thread around about the main things to go to the con like hotels nearby, suggestion of places to eat or means to get there when you're not from belgium, like us, from The Netherlands, for instance. Maybe you're all pro con goers, so could you give us some tips? Thanks a lot!

there actually have been threads but these are kinda old I guess

Anyway... next to the convention is the HOLIDAY INN which is plain perfect.
But the NH HOTEL is also pretty ok. Especailly the one on the St Albert laan, since this is near the train tracks and with the tram it only is 10 minutes to the convention.

Eating: loads of eating places in the center since Gent has loads of students so for every budget there is a restaurant available.

I also suggest staying an extra day to go sightseeing since Gent is GORGEOUS!
I personally have yet to do that but that is because I work the convention from 06.00 till 01.00 on Saturday and 07.00 till 22.00 on Sunday which leaves me little time to do anything more then drive around the FACTS guests and such

One other thing: lots of Bed&Breakfasts in the surrounding areas. With help of Google you can track them down easily. Less pricey perhaps then a hotel.
