Serge, why don't you help us by using your SW backgrounds to raise some funds too instead of ... As I said: we had thought of that, but we did some field research and found that the gain wouldn't outweigh the amount of time, effort and money we'd have to put in it. Time is something we don't have in abundance, as we're invited to tons of events all over Europe. I already had to cancel up to 5 or 6, because we were already too fully booked. Next year's going to be about as busy... Because this system was estimated to be ineffective, with more money going into than coming out (transport, electricity, repairs, etc), we chose to drop this idea in favour of one that'd be guaranteed to raise 4500-5000 Euros at least (when applied to FACTS), with little or no effort. We postponed that idea to some later event we've been contacted about (april/mai 2008). Then, your charity action was announced, making it even more unnecesary for us to set up our own and get in the way of yours. We didn't think of any tombola though. I hope that this may be succesful. Also: unlike others, we've been offering the service to sit in our sets/vehicles in all previous FACTS for free. Our sets/vehicles are built sturdy, so they can handle large numbers, as proven on CE. People would cue for 2 hours no problem. Only a scant few folks would do so when they'd suddenly have to pay. Not even a slight amount which will integrally go to charity. Therefore, we have no intention of changing our policy that what we offer to the audience on FACTS and other conventions, is completely free of charge and that includes our petition.

True. We realise that the amount of money raised by the photographs will be limited. We hope people might be convinced to support MAW. And they can still play the games for free.

We will manage just fine, afterall we are the oldest SW fanclub in Belgium, I'm sure everybody knows that. Our tombola will make enough money to donate to charity due to the prices we have to offer.
We have our partners who work together with us on this. Of course there are other fanclubs out there with simular ideas so good for them. We have taken distance from some of them at their own request.
Anyways
Lucasfilm donated a lot of goodies from Skywalker ranch so watch out for those because these are very much wanted by all of the SW collectors. For the moment we already have +350 prices and more to come.
What I can say for sure is that we will be doing the exact same thing next year but even more bigger and even more prices and we will continue to so as long as we can in the future as well.

If you think the helmet is cool you should see some of the other prices that we will be giving away. To get an idea about the lightsaber, just look at the end of this post. Everything is handcrafted by the best Saber builder in Europe, Emmanuel from Plecter Labs, a proud member of The Rebel Legion. Estimated value is somewhere around 350 to 400 euro's and it is one of a kind ! Each saber made by Emmanuel has hios onw name. This baby is called Sentinel ! No more on and of switch but a sensor to turn it on and off. Lighsaber can be used for combat and is protected for unplanned shutdowns during battle. Often people touch the on/off switch during a saber duel but with this little baby no more errors like that with the new electronics inside that prevent this during a saberfight. If you want to see the master at work just come to the first floor at The Rebel Legion booth and see how something like this get's made from scratch because there will be a real workshop and demo's on how to build lightsabers like this by the master himself. a flashlight worth 400 Euro ? Long time no see Snake Plissken ;D This is not a Master Replica and certainly not mass productions like the MR lightsabers. This lightsaber is completely handcrafted and fitted for real dueling. Come by and see the workshop and you'll see what I mean. The electronics in this lightsaber are far more advanced then any other lightsaber out there. The estimated price is somewhere around 350 to 400 euro. I did not explicitly say it is worth 400 now did I ! The saber blade can be removed if not used so the hilt can be atteched to a Jedi Belt if wanted. O'Neill, you are a Star Wars noob probably so come by as well and we will show you difference between a Master Replica Saber and a Plecter Labs ligtsaber and then you will understand for sure. We where building thse things before you where even born like 15 years ago or something. Only a few days left boys and girls. Do not forget to watch out for those hard to get Skywalker Ranch goodies that will be included in the tombola. Hasbro also donated very cool prices, pioneer a dvd player and many more cool prices will mkae it all worthwhile. DT

Well, no worries. People who are not interested are not obliged to buy any tickets. Of course, they will not be able to win anything

I’m not a big Star Wars fan, but who doesn’t want to win such a unique item. Aren’t there any horror Statues among the prices?
If I win a toy that doesn’t fit in my collection, I’m sure that I’ll find somebody that is willing to buy it from me
I will surely buy some tombola tickets

Horror I'm not 100% sure but I think not. What I do know there are some cool Spiderman and X-Men prices, and also some Transformer goodies and much much more of course.

thats a good question
i have one too : i have like a bag full of coins ( 10 and 5 eurocents ) can i exchange these for tickets ? ( u might have somebody there to count them i hope )

Money is money so if you buy tickets with it we will accept it for sure, no problem. We ourselves do not know which ticket number will have a price. The system is automated by a computer program. You simply have to come to the charity booth to find out. Your number will be introduced into the computer and you will know the result imediatly.
There are still prices that need to be added to the database because we will only obtain these @ FACTS itself. What I can say for sure for about every 25 there will be a price. Of course this is based on the current amount of prices. After the database is completed this number will be lower.
I wish all of you good luck with the tickets and hope you will win some of our fine prices. Remember, it is not for us personally you do this, it is for charity. All profits made go 100% to the Make-A-Wish foundation who will be also present @ FACTS with a booth.
I hope this answers most of the questions you guys have !

It's a great idea. I definitely buy a few... and hope to win. But if I'm not lucky and don't win... I still have a good feeling about it because the money goes to a great cause.

Now hope I win that lightsaber and that clonetrooper helmet.
