Charity at F.A.C.T.S. 2007

how will the tombola work?
one big tombola on saterday and sunday
or
two tombolas one on saterday and one on sunday?
how much will tickets cost and what are the prices

This idea has been done before by international Garrisons of the 501st and on Celebration Europe it was suggested to us we should do it as well, because we have the actual set pieces and vehicles for it. As such we were looking into it, but now that Fan Wars and Teekay-421 have already set up something, it'd be silly for us to run a parallel one and get in their way. We have therefore decided to postpone our action to a later event we've been contacted about and we'll let the current one have its way on FACTS.

We hope it'll be a succes.

This charity has been planned since last year in order to get things organised and planned smoothly. The initial idea started within the Rebel Legion Benelux Base and was soon seconded by our friends from the 501st Fanwars garrison and TeeKay-421 (Belgian SW fanclub).

We will do the exact same thing next year @ FACTS 2008 but even bigger. I can also announce the presence of several known media personlaties that will aid us in this charity action. Although the shoot of the serie they played in has been finished for months, it is still running on TV so keep an eye open for them.

There will be several valuable prices to win like a complete custom made lightsaber from Plecter labs (estimated value 400€), a complete Clone Trooper helmet (estimated value 350€)provided by Imperial Surplus, a brand new DVD player provided by Pioneer, cinema tickets from Kinepolis, entry tickets for Bobbejaanland, toys privided by Dreamland and some really hard to get goodies from Skywalker ranch thanks to Lucasfilm so watch out for those as well.

Of course there are many more prices but now you guys have an idea what you can win by buying a few simple tombola tickets. Tickets will be sold @ only 1 euro a piece ! Maybe a complete list will be posted before FACTS but we will see about that.

One of the biggest problems in the world today is the fact that people have become to selfish and only think of themselves. By doing something for charity we wish to change this as much as possible and give something back to others, in this case the Make-A-Wish organisation.

The work they do is very hartwarming and all the help they can get is most welcome. I hope many will think alike, after all it is for a good cause. Also some well know media personalities will be present as well but to find out who these are you just will have to come to FACTS to find our yourselves.

The tombola will be very interesting indeed. Like Sofie said, we've had support from Skywalker Ranch and they donated several great items that I'm certain everybody would like to get their hands on!
