The new trailer for Resident Evil: Afterlife dfhvioyfveazoidyqsduvqsduvhdouqdvshyoqdsiucsq The next time I read they're going to make a 3D version of a good series I'm just going to stop following it. As yesterday I had my 'first 3D experience' with 'Last airbender' (yaya...) and I had but found things out than they promised it would be. It maybe worked great on Avatar (with them blue people), but it won't work on everything. I'll do say I didn't see Avatar in 3D, nor at a cinema, but until after 2 months the dvd came out because my mother had to see it and I was using the beamer in the living room for my videogames and I refused to move. D: (I don't like going to a movie that gets 'overpraised' too much because there is 'this actor' or 'that technology', pleh, since when doesn't ketchup don't do the trick anymore. [SP'Goth kids]Against all conformist sheep![/SP'Goth Kids]) Avatar was mainly rendered on a computer, which mostly already happens in 3D, which makes it easier to use the technology, because you already know how certain things look like when watched from a different angle. Now, the main problem there is to me, besides everyone slapping 3D on their titles, is that it is a lot harder to take up at least two cameras when filming a live 'human', which doesn't always move the same or stands the same. I'm sure they put those cameras together on a mounted stand in the right angle and such, but it'll never be the same. The way I 'experienced' it yesterday was somewhat like this: "Oh look, that guy has a bit more of a shadow-outlining than the others.", "Ok, nice, I see the nose of a computer-rendered boat coming closer.... And now disappearing into the bottom of the screen", "d**n, these glasses on my glasses are annoying and don't have a decent nose-bridge" and "d**n, that girl that had the box where I had to deposit those glasses looks pretty cute." (And for a funny one: "Micheal Jackson's 3D-experience movie in Disneyland Paris was better than this, at least you had little 3D aliens really flying through the room then.") To open the discussion again on 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'. I hadn't read nor watched any review, I did get small hints from friends it wasn't good and that many people weren't going to go watch it. Which is why it caught my interest (Instead of Inception which can go on my same list as Avatar of 'Wait a year until after the hype is gone') I have only really watched the first season (or book) of the animated series, because I was still living at home then, bored and all such, without a decent 'puter. But I know I didn't have to expect them to be able to cram hours of storyline together in a 2 hour movie, nobody is really decently able to do that. And I respected that, respected the attempt (like how I respect a low-budget horror movie), so I think the movie was blown before you go watch it when you think you'll see almost everything the series offered or expected them to be able to suddenly put something new in. So yeah, it was what I expected, a quick run-down of the most important events (although I think they skipped on the Earth-village vigilante things too fast) and then a lot of attention for what happens at the end of the first book, just to show off what they all can do with modern day filming/editing-techniques. I noticed it wasn't really made to be fully understood by children that aren't English. I don't really read the subtitles, but even I had the feeling they were very very hurried in their speach, like: "Oh god, if I don't finish this line before they pan out over the mountain they are going to fire me," which probably makes for a hella-fast subtitling. But then again, the children sitting in the row in front of me were only interested in jumping on eachother, running up and down the stairs and eventually jumping and yelling 'Appa' whenever he was on the screen. But yes, there was a bit of thing that even made me squirm in my seat with small critique I couldn't hold. It was pretty much of a very big thing. It was mainly the cast who actually 'destroyed' a bit of the movie. I had a feeling I was watching a South-American (please, take no offence, I don't mean this in a harming way, but I just think most actors looked like them) version of 'The Last Airbender' with sometimes the lost pack of asians in between (which were probably always the same persons). I think it would have been best if the movie had or a full European/American cast and background-people or a full Asian version of it. And there was something odd about how they acted or tried to show their feelings, and it wasn't only the slight touch of hurry that was hidden beneath their voices. But anyway, I would have preferred it having an Asian cast, as I pretty much linked the cartoon series with real Asia. (Yes, you can, you just have to think about it a bit and look for clues: Air-tribe: Nepal: Yes yes, let's all start a useless war against people who don't really have a chance(but with a different enemy in another reality) Earth: China: Let's keep everyone else out with censorship and a big (fire-)wall and try to do it our own way Water: Vietnam (south), Philipines (north), ...: Just leave us alone and stop trying to get us in fights, we're just trying to live at peace in our land Fire: Japan (shall I dare say Korea at this moment?): We have a small anger-management issue from time to time. And I have also noticed that the skin colors (again, take no offence please) in the cartoon series pretty much match with what I have summed up here, food for thinking and stuff.) And Zuko's uncle wasn't fat enough.... Sorry for showering you all with my little rant, but I had to release it somewhere.

Not yet, But yesterday i went to see Inception, without any doubt the best movie of 2010.
Predators is also worth seeing. I really liked the character played by Adrien Brody. He reminded me a bit of the character of the European comic "The Killer / Le tueur"

I went to see Resident Evil:afterlife 3D. It's one of the best RE movies that i have seen. The movie is more based on RE5. Cause in the movie Alice is more than ever confrontated with Wesker. So are the enemies/zombies infected with the Uruboros parasites or las plagas. Wentworth Miller can get away with Chris Redfield. That was a good choice. Funny part of the movie is that they are in a prison and guess who knows a way out. I guess the makers were big fan of Prison break.Normally i don't like 3D movies but this one is of the best out there. Although i have to admit it was over the top it was more action than the other movies. They give a clue that there is going to be another movie. Let's hope it's going to be awesomer than this one.

If it was not posted before, here is the newest Tron Legacy trailer shown at San Diego Comic Con this year.
This movie is a sequel from Tron (released in 1982 and starring Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner). Bridges and Boxleitner will be back.
Michael Sheen (The Queen, Twilight : New Moon) will be the boss of nightclub in Tron's new world, Olivia Wilde (House MD) will be Quorra, Garrett Hedlund (Eragon, Troy) will be Sam Flynn (the son of Kevin Flynn's Jeff Bridges) and Daft Punk (french band with popular hits like Around the world, Da Funk, One more time, crescendolls, revolution 909) are expected to do a cameo and will compose the additionnal music.
Tron Legacy will be on american theaters next december 17th, in France, it will be for february 9th 2011.
Movie will be fully 3D (like Tim Burton's Alice in wonderland and not like Clash of the titans or the last airbender), imax scenes, and technology of Benjamin Button's movie will be used for Jeff Bridges "clone" in Tron new world : Clu 2.0.
This is the first movie of Joseph Kosinski (director of Tron Legacy), and he was one of David Fincher's assistants.
This is the movie I am waiting the most in the next months!
EDIT : some american journalists could see around 20 minutes of the movie and some said "better than Matrix" and Michael Sheen (Kastor in Tron Legacy) "cried".

I hope they keep the cast, or at least 95% of it, it was such a special cast.

In that case there will be only 2 actors that return, since all the others aren't in the book. Ian McKellen (Gandalf) and Andy Serkins (Gollum). Bilbo Baggins will ofcourse be played y a younger character.

I hope they'll get the same quality as the LOTR movies, but under the eye of peter jackson (and sauron a little bit) i don't think that will be a problem. If the world doesn't explode in 2012 I'll have something to look forward too.

Rumor has it that Ian Holm may play Bilbo Baggins again at the end of the film (kinda leading up to LOTR I guess). But these are of course rumors. Also, Rhys Ifans is on board for the - in my opinion very unnecessary - reboot of Spider-Man. He'll be playing the villain. I just hope it won't be the Green Goblin again. As for Resident Evil, big fan of the games and I loved the first movie. But I hated the second one so much I never bothered watching the third. I probably will sometime soon though. I do think Miller is the wrong choice for Redfield since he's not that good an actor. And I am looking forward to Priest, Sucker Punch (seriously, check out the trailer), Tangled and Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World. Yeah, I really can't wait for that one ! As a long time reader of the Comics, I'm really exited. I've heard good things when it came out in the US, so I'll keep my hopes up!
