Hi there This year I'm planning on going to F.A.C.T.S. 'cosplayed' as a samurai. My question is: Am I allowed in the ICC with a katana? It's not sharpened and will be sheated at all times. I suppose a bokuto is fine (?), but a katana would be more realistic, but I don't want to stand at the entrance, not being allowed to enter the building for having a 'weapon' with me Thx ^^

Hmmm good question, I guess not, since it's actually the same as bringing your own sword, it's still dangerous. That's why we're bringing wooden swords, (bokken plz) so that'll be better.

I thought it would be better to post it in this thread. Regarding the rules about weaponry, I have a question. I represent a reënactmentgroup, Furor. We are Celtic warriors, reënacting the Gallic Wars, so say.. ~100 BC. We want to come to this event as visitor, a bit similar to the cosplayers among you, except we're as much historical correct as possible. Now, coming to the point. We carry iron weapons, swords, spears, lances, that sort of stuff. Blunts of course. At other locations we battle each other, but we can understand that there's no room at F.A.C.T.S. Fine, but we would still rather want to know if we can carry them. We have membercards of our group, which authorises us to carry our weapons in public. What we do is in accordance with the Belgian weaponlaw. If I read the rules, I have to admit that they aren't completely clear to me. This part makes me understand that all of our weaponry is prohibited. And this makes me understand that we may take them with us. As I read the rest of the topic, I still can't make a good idea of the rules. TL;DR: - Reënactmentgroup with historical weapons in accordance with Belgian Weaponlaw. - Willing to attend F.A.C.T.S. as visitor/cosplayer. - Asking about weaponrules. Taranis, id est Furor! Domhnall, son of Fithil; Legate of Furor.

a bit of a last-minute question, since this was pointed out to me about half an hour ago i'm planning on doing a transformers outfit (not as a car but as one of cpt. Lennox's team) and this requires a realistic looking fire-arm i plan on bringing my airsoft gun (see picture) with modifications so that it won't be able to shoot a single piece of plastic without some pieces back in (which i'm not planning on doing until after FACTS) my question is quite simple, can i bring it without 3 policemen telling me to 'put the gun down, slowly' ? the replica: imgcash6.imageshack.us/Himg30/scaled.php?server=30&filename=hpim1568g.jpg&xsize=640&ysize=480and it's metal, not plastic

I'm locking this topic. Please go the "Cos Play" section to find the 2009 version of this topic on weapons.
