The only books I have read with passion where "the Lord of the Rings" and "the Hobbit". I have read "the Hobbit" first and then "the Lord of the Rings". And I liked "the Hobbit" still the best. Hoping that it will be the same with the movie. Also want to read "the Inheritance Cycle".

I have read all Tolkien books, god I love Middle-Earth The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion. I had most fun reading The Silmarillion because it deals with the older history of Middle-Earth. Ive also read Eragon and Eldest but they were not so great in my humble opinion, I have this odd feeling when I read these books that they are copies of something and I have seen them somewhere before I would like to read more fantasy and scifi books but I don't have so much time with school and all and our local library only has so much scifi-books and as far as fantasy-books go, ill have to do some digging ;D

I'm a Harry Potterfan. There's not much now to anticipate because all books have been released now, but it was sooooo much fun waiting for book after book after book. I became a fan just after the fourth book was released. And 6 - Half-Blood Prince - is my favourite. Can't wait for the movie!
I read the original LOTR trilogy and though it was alright, I wouldn't read it again. I know the story now.
My fav children's book is The Secret Garden.
And besides that... I don't recall many great books... Phantom by Susan Kay, that's also a greaaat book (about the life of the Phantom of the Opera). But yeah that's about it.
And I like writing fanfiction and stuff, so I also read a tiny bit of that. ^^

I have a whole series of books by David Eddings. I like the humor in them. I'm starting on the onmagiƫr-novels by W.J.Maryson, does anybody know if the're any good?

Some of my most re-read fantasy books are the original six ELRIC novels by Micheal Moorthingy. Corum was fun, too.

I would highly recommend Terry Brooks' Shannara universe. Quite well written and very addictive The 'universe' consists of 7 series. I'm currently reading 'the high druid of Shannara' series. for each series you have to read the books in chronological order as they form a cohesive story, so you can't just pick one and read it because you won't understand what is happening. Problem is that you can't find all the books in store so you'll have to order them from time to time. I'm am waiting for the last book of the sub-series called Straken as we speak.

I love David Gemmell's work, great heroic fantasy author (though people often say he's repetetive in his writing).
David Barclay's Chronicles Of The Raven are pretty good as well.
other than that I'm not sure, I keep hearing Raymond E. Feist is really great.
