Maybe it was already mentioned somewhere else, but could you please consider splitting the waiting line into 2 separate lines this year : those who only have to buy their ticket and those who already have them ?
Since the waiting line gets longer and longer each year, maybe it would be a good idea to let those who bought their ticket in advance enter before the others, what do you think ?

And what about people who get invites or win tickets, et al ? The people who were lucky to have won a ticket or even got an invite, wil have to check in at the information desk right accros the till at the entry. The tickets wil be waiting there.

hey folks, well I' m really looking forward to F.A.C.T.S. again this year but I was wondering about something. Last time I was at the con, as a cosplayer I was a member of a cosplay group and we were able to get into F.A.C.T.S. without having to wait inline, because we were on a list. But the group was disbanded so yeah...
Now I' m just a noob here... so I don' t wanna rush in or be annoying, but I do know that for a cosplayer it can sometimes be really, really hard if your allready in your get-up to have to wait in-line because it can get really hot, or heavy, or just frustrating to stand there.
I know you have to wait, but is there some way there can be a sepperate line for cosplayers, so they can get in a little faster, dump their excess things at the therefor designated area and start cosplaying?
Sorry if it sounds like I wanna get in fast because that's not the case... it would be just a little more comfortable.

And not fair towards the others who do not cosplay, that the cosplayers may enter earlier then the rest!!! Not a good idea to have a line for normal and one for cosplayers. It should be good to have 2 lines in general.

I dunno, I think the noob has a point. XD Lol. When I went last year, I thought the cosplayers made most of the atmosphere and to me, the cosplayers were the coolest thing on FACTS, cooler than the merchandise and stars... It's nice to give them a push in the back and I think it's wonderful they're only having to pay 7 euros instead of 9, that's a really nice gesture, but a cosplay line would be nice too. That way, as a cosplayer, you could walk by the line (like the Star Wars cosplayers often do) and entertain the crowd a bit, without worrying that you're gonna have to get IN line and get your ticket and queue for half an hour.

and why not give the cosplayers a early bied ticket, so they can enter early too

Lol, not what I meant, but would be nice. XD
What I mean what would be nice, would be a line for cosplayers so they could get their tickets from 9:30 or whatever, (but not get in yet) after which they can walk by the line, entertain the waiting folks and not get in before 10.

Yes, example: Some Non-cosplayers can stand there from 8:00 and a cosplayer arrives around 9:30 and get his ticket and wait till it opens and enter 10:00 at Facts, why the Non-cosplayers who stand there from 8:00 must still wait till there turn to buy a ticket. Not quite fair, don't you think.

Meh, I think it's okay like it is... I mean, if you look at animecon, there more cosplayers than 'normal' people there.. and there's just one general line... Also, when waiting in line for animecon, most cosplayers wear an easy cosplay :3 We know we have to wait, and really, we don't mind ^^ It's also quite normal to leave the line as well, when we see a friend, we just ask the people in front of us to watch our backpack for a sec and quickly go say hi to our friend and then rush back xD You just have to try to make the waiting fun :3 Last year I entered animecon pretty early, and when I got inside and all, my friend phoned me and said she just got in line, so I ran outside, and got in line as well xD I waited in the line 2 times, but I had fun :3
Okay, I have to admit, last year when waiting in line for facts, I wasn't very comfortable... but hey, it was my own fault! Try eating birthday cake when waiting in line xD (and yeah, it was pretty hot outside...)

sorry if I offended anyone, I guess it is being recieved as trying to sneak in early.
As I pointed out, this is not the case. The fact that FACTS has decided to give cosplayers a discount to the con (which is allready a fair price if your a regular visitor) is more then generous.
and personally... I don' t give a crap about plastic puppets or starwars actors who were the second stormtrooper to walk by in the back of the battle of endor for about 2,5 seconds or that one orc that fell from the cliff at helm's deep.... ... I really don' t.
For those of you that would go bloody mad if a cosplayer would get in earlier (to buy... dolls and.... stickers... it' s all the same to me), maybe it would be possible then you make an entree point for cosplayers about an hour or 2 after opening the doors for the regular visitors.
again... it's not about trying to sneak in a.s.a.p. it's about a little... more comfort, that's all.
or... I don' t know, get cosplayers in early, and not allowing them to buy anything for half a day for all I care... (I know... I' m being absurd now).
I' m just trying to point out it is not for me to try to get in as early as possible, I do try to get in taking care of my costumes wich I' ve worked hard on and which a whole lot of people like to go on a picture with and see etc. that by itself takes up the time of the cosplayer to look around or buy anything, and what about the time you have to wait to get inline for the cosplay contest? rest of the visitors not allowed to buy anything then??
seriously... again... I don' t bloody care about whatever the hell is in there that would make me wanna get in a.s.a.p. I mean... simplest sollution... don' t cosplay...
but that's just it, I love goin on pictures with people who like my costume and i love making pictures of other cosplayers. and I don' t care if I see no crap of the whole convention because of cosplaying... it's just to much fun. That's why I go to FACTS, see and meet other cosplayers.
all I'm trying to say... is that it may be a little more... easier if you can walk quietly along the line, dump your affects easily and safely and then start cosplaying and entertaining people... ow and anyways... There are some costumes that take so freaking long to put on, it doesn' t matter if they get in an hour before you do, you' d still be on the convention floor sooner.
ofcourse it is kind of anoying, because there's also alot of cosplayers with not much more then a t-shirt, a funny hat and some weird pants... these ones would then be in a position to take advantage of the situation and then it would be dishonest for those of the people who' ve been waiting in line for ages. So I do understand your points.
I seriously apologize to everyone who thought I was trying to sneak in early... NOT THE CASE.

My suggestion to get in early was NOT made on behalf of the idea that cosplayers should get their hands FIRST on merchandise.
My suggestion to get them inside was made on two assumptions: - sometimes it can be cold in october and cosplaying is not for every cosplayer a warm venture. Normal people can dress as warmly as they like, that is not a given for cosplayers. - If it rains, it can ruin a good cosplay if the person has to wait for hours. - cosplayers standing in line are boring. cosplayers roaming (like the Star Wars team) is entertaining to the waiting ones. I do wonder how those Storm Troopers did it last year.
But okay, I understand it's too much to ask for but it was NEVER meant as a way to get in the hall early and buy the collectibles first. I made the suggestion because it is horrible to have a costume be ruined by the weather gods. If the weather is nice (like last year), that isn't too much of a problem though.

Excellent points, though I don't know what its like for FACTS (living in the UK, the weather is erratic) but I've had to stand outside before while its been raining ruining peoples costumes (luckily mine was made for protection ;D ) however others were not so lucky in this

Normal people can dress as warmly as they like, that is not a given for cosplayers. or you can be too hot... If you cosplay an organisation member, and you have to wait in the sun, you just /melt/ rbf, I get your point now, and I think you're right :3 Edit: I got another suggestion! Bring back the DDR! Last year there wasn't any and that made us sad, sad panda's!
