Alright girls & boys,
do you have any suggestions for the next edition of our convention ?
Be it :
- practical (no smoking, longer opening hours, etc.) - related to events ("we want a noodle slurping contest !!", etc.) - related to the organisation of the rooms ("I want all the anime dealers on the left of the room, etc.")
or anything else which concerns our show, just post them here !

maybe if you put al the dealers in one or two ( or even three rooms) and it is not allowed to smoke in those rooms, but there is a other room with only a (bigger) bar and the special guests and you may smoke in this room

well...I am not a smoker (my wife even came clean before we decided to spawn some humanoids ) and in general I do not mind people smoking... Just.... one dealer last year made me want to have a smoking ban active he was very intrusive via his smoking manners...my clothes all smelled foul after visiting his (too expensive, still in Belgian Francs priced!!!) booth

We'll try to keep it in mind, although you do understand this would be quite tough to enforce as a rule.

or isn't there in belgium a smking ban in public places like in holland?
In Holland it is forbidden to smoke in the working places (offices) and public places like schools , trainstations, municipal buildings...

Yeah, Selling tickets in advance seems great to me! But I don't think the shops will be so happy to sell them, more work again (and no money for them perhaps?) Anyway, seems like a good idea! Can you make this happen, FACTS-Gods?

I think there is, at least in government buildings and soos in all restaurants. I'm all for a ban on smoking in al public places, they poison other ppl's longs -_-

Actually, there is already a ban on smoking in plublic places (schools, halls like the one F.A.C.T.S. is held in, bibs, ...) and will be exctended to place like restaurants and café's in 2007. So the only place where smoking will be still aloud, will be on the streets.

Well, we'll consider it, although, as said, it won't be easy to impose this.

Please update the website frequently.

What shops there are: maybe.
What they're selling: I don't see that happening, because the FACTS organisation doesn't have a say in what the sellers bring, nor do I think the sellers will announce this beforehand.

My suggestion would be ..get more & more 'interesting' artists. Liam Sharp is a GREAt choice, but Joe Jusko was in europe a few years ago (and in my opinion not one of the most generous people to his fans). Romano, very nice guy and also a great artist, but who in belgium, netherlands or germany hasn't met this guy? Chris Evenhuis, like his art, but i have no idea what he is doing lately (or what he has done).. Why don't you try to get more 'interesting' people/artists ..for example Dave McKean. he lives in Kent (south England), just finished his Mirrormask movie and is widely known in the comic & music industry. Or Gabriele Dell"otto, italian painter currently working on Secret War. John Mueller (Germany) Oink comics fame & computer designer, etc. It is not that i want to sound negative or anything (i am defenitely going tom visit the convention), but I am quite dissappointed in the list of 'big' names.... + another suggestion, chanche the date ..there is also a huge convention in Essen at the same time

+ another suggestion, chanche the date ..there is also a huge convention in Essen at the same time I doubt that's anywhere near possible. You can't just rent something like the ICC whenever you want it ànd FACTS always aims to be held during the Film Festival in Gent.

..just wondering.. will the artist also be sketching, or only signing? + how does that work: first come first served/standing in line, gambling with the dice (seems to be growing popular at conventions) or do you have to pay for a autograph/sketch?

We'll look into in for the next edition. After the last edition with only Lectrr signing, this year we did a little effort to get 4 of them. Someone like Joe Jusko is quite famous and whether he has already come to somewhere Europe doesn't change the fact that it's the first time he'is in Belgium and that he is an artist you will not see regularly in Europe. Romano & Chris Everhuis are doing a comic together so FACTS is the best place to promote it. And lots of people were disappointing that Romano cancelled last year. If you don't know the work of Chris Everhuis, well he'll tell you yourself what he's doing lately. . Well, maybe you can ask the people of Essen to change their date. FACTS has been around for more than 10 years and it has always held in september and in october for the ICC-FACTS-editions. Also correctly stated by Serge Broskopf that everthing depends on availability of the ICC and the filmfestival. You better do :-)

+ Is this the complete lists of the special guests, or will there be more announcements? Nope, it isn't. Tonight, I'll announce yet another Guest actor. One or more actors will follow in the next months. Like recent editions (John Rhys Davies, David Carradine and Ray Park) we hope to get this year a bigger name as well. Check the website. We are also still in discussion with another American comic artist and have completely lost faith in contacting a mangaka.

Yep, first come, first served. And you have to stand in the line to get an autograph/sketch. Autograph of the actors will have to be paid. For a sketch, probably you'll have to pay for it. All depends on the artist but it is only fair to buy a comic or a printed illustration if you want a sketch of these artisit. Of Liam Sharp we hope to get the last album of Storm on which he worked with Don Lawrence and was considered as the next artist to draw the series. And once again, FACTS has no say (and profit) in the price of the autographs. We'll always try to keep it as low as possible.
